I just wrote this as a rough draft. Don't spread it around yet, because there are a few things we need to straighten out first; if anyone wants to add to it, feel free to. FD, I sent Akbar a message on Facebook telling him about your plan to make a special edition of the 667er. The invitation seems good, but I believe you're mistaken- I was planning to do the cover-art competition, I think it was Brunch who offered to organize the 667er.

Oops, sorry. This is why it's a rough draft.

I could put together some sort of graphic based on the ideas we've generated. Good point about images not showing up in the e-mails, though; it's probably best to have the message in plain text and not in an image, in case the aforementioned scenario is true.

1. A reality show-esque or vernacularly fastened door game where the winner becomes the new admin. - VOLUNTEER NEEDED TO RUN THIS CONTEST I volunteer for this.

Awesome; we weren't really sure how to go about doing that contest. I'm sure you'll do a great job, Willis; I added you to the first post. I could put together some sort of graphic based on the ideas we've generated. Good point about images not showing up in the e-mails, though; it's probably best to have the message in plain text and not in an image, in case the aforementioned scenario is true. I went and dug up the old proboard I made years ago to figure out what different admin functions look like, and it appears the e-mail all function is text only. If you want to make a banner to use in other places, though, go ahead!

If you want to make a banner to use in other places, though, go ahead! What kind of other places did you have in mind? I suppose, to give the event uniformity, the image could be posted atop contests and the like. Or, better yet, a new message icon could be added to the standard collection and chosen before posting each Anniversary-related thread. Edit: Also, what about a clever alliterative title for the anniversary? Much as the sixth anniversary was arduous, the tenth could be afflictive or antipathetic. If a catchy line comes to mind, that might also be something to include in the invitation.

It wouldn't quite work as a simple title, but you could pun on "averse" somewhere. Are you averse to anniversaries? If so, don't visit etc.

Agonizing? Atrocious? Abysmal? Anti-social? Askew? What do you guys think?

I think "agoniz/sing" and "anti-social" sound best, because of the shared letter "n" with "anniversary." And I like the paradox of an anti-social anniversary.

"Antisocial" needn't be hyphenated, either, which is nice from a visual perspective. I made two banners with slight variations, which can be edited to include a catchy title. I'm going to check with Tiago if using his colored Esme is okay (Edit: It is), but other than that, here they are. Which do you like better? (Updated: See below.)

The pinstripe one is my favorite, Sherry Ann, but I really have a soft spot for the background pinstripes. I'll wait to see what others think.
Antisocial and Agonizing (or agonising; I forgot there was a British spelling) are my favorites as well, and I really do like the irony in using Antisocial, so I added it to the invitation letter.

You mean English spelling.

Sure, BSam, we'll call it English spelling if it makes you happy. By the way, I have made some changes to the invitation letter; I'll post it here and have you guys look it over, and tomorrow PM it to Tragedy to send out via e-mail. Dear 667er,
You are cordially invited to 667 Dark Avenue's Tenth Anniversary celebration, The Antisocial Anniversary. The anniversary is Friday, June 22nd, but celebrations will be held the entire week of June 18th to June 24th. Everyone is welcome, whether you joined a month ago or have not visited the site in years.
We have a variety of activities planned, including contests, theme days, quizzes, collaborative fiction, a timeline of the forum, a special edition of The 667er, and even a ball. For a full schedule of the festivities, go to asoue.proboards.com and find our thread in the Foreboding Feedback section.
Sincerely,
The 667 Anniversary Planners
P.S. We are planning on making a "where are they now" in the style in high school reunions, and so would appreciate everyone writing a few lines about what they've been up to in the last few years. This could include personal information, but does not have to; in fact, if you're squeamish about giving out personal information you're welcome to make something up. Once it's written, either sign into your 667 account and PM it to Linda (username lindarahldeen), or send her an e-mail at meganhowarth@gmail.com. Please try to have this in by June 15th.
P.P.S. Interested in helping out? Find our planning thread and volunteer for something! We are also planning three collaborative projects: an ASOUE collaborative fanfiction, a special edition of the 667er, and a 10-year timeline. If you are interested in helping out with any of these, find our threads in Fearsome Fiction, Chaotic Creativity, and Menacing Miscellaneous respectively.

The invitation looks good, especially with the edition of The Antisocial Anniversary. I'll edit that into the banner (I'm rather partial to the stripes myself). Edit: What about this?

I'll be honest, I prefer the more colourful background of the first alternative, but there's no denying that the pinstripes will be an effective reminder.
