I'm not good with child actors, so I won't do the Baudilaires or Carmelita or the Quagmires. I'll just do the adults. By the way, lovely to see you all again. :D

Count Olaf - I read somewhere awhile back about Christopher Lloyd. That's a good idea. Alan Rickman would be good, too. For some odd reason, Michael Gambon comes to mind as well. Maybe it's the Potter actors. ;)

Esme Squalor - Rachel McAdams works, as does Kate Winslet perhaps, Maggie Gylenhall (sp?), Katie Holmes, Helena Bonham Carter, and maybe Julia Roberts. Eh...I'm not sure about female actors either :P

Uncle Monty - Paul Giamatti maybe?

Aunt Josephine - I agree with Maggie Smith, or maybe Glenn Close.

Sir - Christopher Walken?

Phil - I'm not sure I remember him too well, but maybe David Thewlis. Or the guy who played Faramir; his name will come to me in a moment... David Wenham. There it is.

Vice Principal Nero (by the way, who is the Principal of Prufrock? odd question) - Tom Wilkinson. I was thinking Paul Giamatti as well (John Adams actors now ;))

Remora - Tom Hanks cameo.

Bass - Jennifer Anniston cameo.

Jerome Squalor - Liam Neeson (actually, I picture him for Ishmael as well) or Hugo Weaving.

Hector - Mel Gibson or Ewan McGregor possibly.

Hal - Peter O'Toole, Ian Holm

Lulu - ?

Everybody I can think of who's suitable to play the roles is British, which of course is a bit unlikely. I guess that's a problem of being British.

Esme Squalor- Emily Watson. Yeah, I know she often plays tortured characters, but I would love to see her a magee in pinstripes and stilletos.
Jerome Squalor- Daniel Day Lewis or Ewan McGreggor
Sir- Definately Danny Devito
Kit- Samantha Morton
Dr. Orwell- Helena Bonham Carter. I pictured Dr. Orwell to look like Bellatrix Lestrange

By the way, to all of you who are picking TMM characters: I suspect any sequel they do will skip TMM (probably the least popular book) and go straight to TAA, TEE, and TWW, so they can end Movie 2 somewhat conclusively and so they can divide 13 intoa group of movies with 3 books each.

I think the last thing we heard of the plot of any potential sequel was that it'd be predominantly TAA... but that must've been years ago.

I've been watching Tin Man and I think Kathleen Robertson (who plays the evil Askadeliah) should play Esme. Their facial features are almost uncanny!
