I wonder what LSATWQ could stand for; based on last year's birthday message I think it's fair to assume Lemony Snicket A----- T---- W----- Question(s)?
Lemony Snicket Asks The Worst Questions?
edit: haha I should've looked at the page a bit longer Lemony Snicket Asks (or Answers - that actually seems more like him) The Wrong Questions

As far as legitimacy and publicity, Lisa Brown tweeted it back on the 25th, and Neil Gaiman both tweeted and tumbl'd it soon after. Kind of surprising it didn't get noticed sooner!

I bet both of you secretly work for Hachette, though, don't you? Be honest. Thanks for the tip-off, though. Announcement time! Edit: Okay, I signed up a couple of e-mail addresses, so I should be able to stay posted, unless it does what AuthorTracker used to do and send e-mails to U.K. residents about twelve hours late. Time to spend the next few months desperately refreshing these pages. I agree that it's probably "Lemony Snicket Asks The Wrong Questions" - "Answers" is a bit more cumbersome. In which case, given last year's birthday message - "The First Question" - then I'm guessing that this could well be the title of the new series or something not unrelated to that. So my theory is that the new series is called Lemony Snicket Asks The Wrong Questions, the equivalent of "Book the First" is now "The First Question" etc. - with the fourth book being either The Fourth Question or The Last Question - and each book title is a question. And all this seems to imply that a statement he made some time ago apparently linking the new series to the Great Unknown may well be on the mark! Or alternatively this could be an overreaction and the truth is something completely different. We shall see! Edit Again: Edited the subject line to reflect this. Edit Once More: This is what was being referred to above:

OOOOOooooooooooh!!!! *o*
I've already signed up. I CAN'T WAIT.
I'm more excited about this then I am about the upcoming The Winds of Winter in the A Song of Ice and Fire series and that is saying something.

So we can indeed expect the official promotion to start soon! This is also a good way for Hatchette Books to get an idea about size audience, I suspect.

I wonder when we'll actually get something out of this, though? Probably not for at least another month, I'd guess; they need to build up their signed-up audience by word-of-mouth, which is probably why Neil Gaiman was involved.
Edit: In which case I wouldn't be surprised to see advertisements for this site elsewhere - perhaps in print media, too.

It might also be prudent to keep an eye on LS.com to see how they handle the upcoming publicity.

I went through the #lemony snicket tag on tumblr and search on twitter and sent people messages saying "To whom it may concern: lsatq.com", hopefully it'll get spread around and interest drummed up

I kinda hope they'll send out something early on - just a very brief acknowledgement or teaser that gives us an idea of when we can expect something more substantial.
Edit: Also note that this is apparently linked to the U.A., which of course had questions for all of its chapter titles, with the originals crossed out because they were "simply not the right questions." And the U.A., of course, was about...

I wonder if it will be like TUA in the sense that it is kind of composed of a lot of documents, or if it will be more in novel form like ASOUE. I would think probably the latter.

I hope it will be a novel, I couldn't read TUA.

I'm reasonably certain that four full books consisting of false document narratives would not get published. There's a reason the U.A. and TBL are short spin-off texts; they're very good, but quite difficult to read and comprehend in some respects, and the form isn't mainstream at all. I'm sure we're looking at "real" novels.
Although it occurs to me that all of our speculation at the moment rests on the assumption that LSATWQ isn't some form of giant red herring - just the name, for instance, of the promotional campaign rather than the books themselves... notice how the domain name just redirects to Hachette, for instance. But maybe I'm being too paranoid. I was just thinking of how The Nameless Novel seemed to be setting up a major plotline for TPP involving elevator sabotage, and then nothing of the kind was in the book itself.
