A moderator has the right to delete a post if it is under two words long and/or does not add value to the topic at hand.
This is in accordance with 667 Dark Avenue Administrative Decree #1.
Any member who displays unwarranted rudeness, rule breaking, ignorance of warnings, racism, sexism, profanity, harassment by PM, or fails to treat others with the respect they are due will be given warnings/strikes. This is in accordance with 667 Dark Avenue Administrative Decree #2.
Any warnings/strikes given by a moderator will be recorded in the Hall of Records. Additionally, those who receive warnings/strikes must be sent PM notification by the moderator who gave the warning/strike. This is in accordance with 667 Dark Avenue Administrative Decree #3.
Any member who registers with a profane, sexually-suggestive, or rude username will be e-mailed to inform them that their account name was inappropriate and be asked to register with another account; their original will be deleted. Repeated violation of this rule by the same IP address will result in an IP ban. This is in accordance with 667 Dark Avenue Administrative Decree #4.
The requirements for being a moderator are that (a) you must have at least 1000 posts, (b) you do not have your own message board, (c) you have not received a strike in 3 months and (d) you have never been banned before. Note that rule (a) may be disregarded in very special cases. This is in accordance with 667 Dark Avenue Administrative Decree #5.
A member is allowed to have multiple accounts, though we discourage it. They are even allowed to have multiple personalities, although we discourage it. However, if you use alternate accounts to break previous decrees, especially Decree #2, you will be IP banned and all your accounts will be deleted. This is in accordance with 667 Dark Avenue Administrative Decree #7.
You may post one advertisement of website that belongs to you if you have over 100 posts. Also, you may only advertise a site that belongs to a member with over 100 posts. This is in accordance with 667 Dark Avenue Administrative Decree #8.
All websites that have ANYTHING to do with Lemony Snicket must go in Wistful Web, and nowhere else. If it's non-Snicket website, it goes in Misc. This is in accordance with 667 Dark Avenue Administrative Decree #9.
Any moderator who directly disobeys the Administrator can be fired. Dishonesty and power abuse* will result in removal. This is in accordance with 667 Dark Avenue Administrative Decree #10.
The staff of 667 reserves the right to modify a member's signature if it violates already stated decrees, and if it exceeds 300 px (height) X 650 px (width), and the file size of the signature image exceeds 60KB. An example of the size limit can be seen here. In regards to the text in one's signature the largest text size a member may use is size 3, and even then the increased text must be used sparingly otherwise please use the default (or smaller) size. It would be nice if members had text signatures limited to five lines or less but 667 will allow longer text signatures in the case of quoting, for example a well-known poet but please try to not exceed twelve lines. This is in accordance with 667 Dark Avenue Administrative Decree #11.
No double posting. What is double posting? Posting more than once in immediate (less than 24 hours) succession. If one has something to add their post, and they are still the last person to post in a thread then one MUST use the modify button instead of double posting. The only exceptions are 1) when one is posting an article, a fanfic, or a post that exceeds the character limit such cases allow double posting. 2) When the time that has elapsed exceeds 24 hours; however, it is polite to resurrect an old thread only if one has something significant to add (i.e. Do not bump an old topic to simply say "I agree" or "cool"). Double posting is only allowed in Menacing Miscellaneous. This is in accordance with 667 Dark Avenue Administrative Decree #12.
Post threads in the correct section. Punishment for posting in the wrong section will not exceed a warning. This is in accordance with 667 Dark Avenue Administrative Decree #13.
Breaking rules results in strikes (moderators may choose to give warnings if it is clear that the offender was unaware of the rules). Three strikes and you're banned. Usually, you'll be booted out, no questions asked. The length of a member's banishment is decided by the administrator.

Note: Any member who deletes his or her account and later returns with a new username will not have the posts of the old account replaced. If posts matter so much to you, you should have thought twice before deleting your account. Only in some very special cases will posts be replaced.
*Abuse of moderator powers includes:
Negative bias: Using said powers to single out a particular person or persons for punishment, including unreasonable deletion or archiving of their posts and threads, and unreasonable awarding of warnings and strikes.
In the case of global moderators, this also includes unreasonable banning of a person or persons, and demotion of a person or persons from a position of power.
Positive Bias: Using said powers to single out a particular person or persons for special treatment, including unreasonable stickying of threads.
In the case of global moderators, this also includes unreasonable unbanning, and elevating a person to a position of power who is unqualified for said position.
The punishment for abusing moderator powers are that said powers will be immediately withdrawn from the abuser, the abuser will be forbidden from moderating ever again, and the abuser will be given a strike. Any and all abuse of moderator powers will also be reversed.
