It must also be said that the sword is pointing straight down at Violet. Maybe hinting at her later demise in the series??? Something terrible might happen to her in the 13th book..but she can't die! I mean, In TRR, it says that the Bauds look back at what happened to them in the books....so she can't die!

I liked the sword in the illustration because I knew the literary reference anyway. My one beef is that in the movie, the sword on the dock has been changed to a traditional anchor. [It can be seen in various production stills.] That's so bogus. That made me mad too. I feel like going up to the guys who did that and say "It's called Damoclese Dock for a reason!"
