I asked her and she said that a friend who owns a bookstore gave it to her. Her son doesn't read LS (what's wrong with him?) so she's selling it.
You know what? Let's move this whole spoiler discussion to the spoiler thread. I'm deleting the links to ebay so no one else gets mad.
EDIT: Yay! I won the ebay auction! The book should be here by about Wednesday. How much do people want to be spoiled?

I'll see what I can do to spoil you then. As soon as it comes, I'll probably scan the back cover so you all get a close-up. Maybe a photo of the posters too. Then I'll probably take a while to read it all and take notes. By Friday, when I'm off of school, I'll be ready to post some good spoilers.

EDIT: Yay! I won the ebay auction! The book should be here by about Wednesday. How much do people want to be spoiled? Ahh! Yay, Gigi! Now we must have spoiler discussions! I'm happy that I will have someone to share all the information with. (All spoiling will be done in the Official Spoiler Thread, please, stickied at the top of the page. In PMs is acceptable too, but all discussion must be kept in the thread.)

Another new picture from B&N.com We can now see the bats more clearly. They're hanging in what looks like Curdled Cave. Perhaps Lemony was there doing his research on the Bauds. And there is that Beatrice board again, or rather the other half of the piece of board. The A looks like peculiar. To me, it looks like if you flipped it over, it could be a lower case f next to a capital I. And don't those punched-out letters look fragile? I won't speculate much more than that since my copy should be coming in the mail tomorrow. Yay!

The punch-out letters do indeed look fragile, and the gaping holes left in the book by them are quite disconcerting. I really hope this isn't too cheap and gimmicky.

I'm starting to feel a bit fearful about actually punching out the letters. The pages look like glossy paper and I wonder how well perforated they are. I would hate to accidentally rip anything while removing the letters.

Ooh! Very beautiful.
Curdled Cave used to be a headquarters to VFD (TPP, pp 27-8)., so maybe Handler is resurrecting it as a place of importance to Lemony and Beatrice?
Is that an A? I thought it might be a fancy N, but I can see the A in it too. It's probably an A. On the page from which the letter is punched out, you can see what appears to be The City in the background.
"Night Lettergram"? Can anyone make out who it's signed by?
Can't wait.

The A looks like peculiar. To me, it looks like if you flipped it over, it could be a lower case f next to a capital I. And don't those punched-out letters look fragile? When I first saw those letters in a row at the bottom, I thought they spelled out "Kit", so that A-like letter could also be an "It". Perhaps each individual punch-out letter, rather than merely being part of different anagrams, is ambiguous in itself. As for the fragility of the letters, I might have mentioned that I'm considering getting two copies of TBL, if I can. (Edit: I've asked, and I've been told I can get a second copy if I pay for it.) I can't make sense of the signature on the "Night Lettergram" thing, or anything else except "Independent" on it.

Here it is turned the right way and blown up to 200%. It says "Independent...Competetive...Progressive" at the bottom of the letterhead thingy. And it looks like it was signed by someone with the initials L S, but it's not Lemony's handwriting. Or it could just say "Late Service" perhaps.

The letters look very fragile, they look little-kid-book-gimik-y. The A does look like an f and an I. Since there is a K and it doesn't look like you can flip it the Ebay auction seems to be wrong, you know "my name.....

That side of the poster is probably the one that's going to face outwards when I put it up. Although I plan to get two TBLs anyway, so I can have both.
Got to say: Wow. That's really cool, although I have no idea where that cave could be. It could be Curdled Cave, although it doesn't have the strange white colouring. It looks to me like a possible hideout for Lemony, given the hat on the left, which looks just like his hat from the 2004(?) calendar. (Assuming that was Lemony, but it's his style, anyway.)
I'm guessing that the reverse side of wherever you punch the letters out from won't have text on it, just more of the picture. Or at least, that would be most sensible, otherwise it'd really ruin the book. And I'm kinda worried about punching them out too, as my experience with perforations has never been positive. Still, two copies.
Edit: Also: Best art ever. Helquist wins.

IT"S HERE!!!!!!!!! My copy of TBL arrived in the mail today. Here it is fresh out of the box in my hand. Now I must go to devour its contents and type up notes and spoilers for it. EDIT: The punch-out letters appear to be quite firmly in the pages. Since you can easily tell what letters they are, I've decided not to punch them out at all. Why risk losing or wrecking them if you don't need to. And I figured out why the A looks strange. They had to leave a connecting piece to the triangle in the middle of the A. If they didn't, you would have this extra triangle with no purpose. This way, it all stays connected without extra pieces.
