He stumbled on the rocks, the tatters of his robes falling to the ground like shadows. The umpteen stars he had stolen from other members fell out, twinkling for a second in the half-white moonlight. His own were safe, though he himself wasn't. I've heard there was a secret chord That David played, and it pleased the Lord But you don't really care for music, do you? It goes like this The fourth, the fifth The minor fall, the major lift The baffled king composing HallelujahIn those horrible days, when she seemed to be the nexus of everything, he had sought help from Tragedy. Tragedy responded by writing some clueless love poems which PJ burnt in desperation. The music he had written still played in PJ's head, accompanied by ashes, floating, breathing, dying. Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, HallelujahHe banged down his fists. The skin peeled and drew back, away from the sharp rocks. It was a pain, but not only pain. Anger reigned within PJ's head. That little Manx, thought he, why the hell did she do it? How could she? Your faith was strong but you needed proof You saw her bathing on the roof Her beauty in the moonlight overthrew you She tied you To a kitchen chair She broke your throne, she cut your hair And from your lips she drew the HallelujahTragedy had yelled at him when he'd found out about it at first. How she'd lured him into her boudoir and wheedled all the 667 secrets out of him. He'd been mystified that day. He had never felt so utterly helpless before. Trapped in the room he had had no choice but to give in to her. No other 667ers had ever spoken to him after that, except for his old friends who took pity on him. He'd become a pariah, whilst she, abandoning him, had risen to great heights in 667 society. Great is the fall of the mighty. Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, HallelujahHe was bleeding now. He'd banged his head against a rock, his hair becoming matted with blood. How could he have fallen for that? How could she have done it to him. Memories returned, awful memories. The day she'd egged the ad ministerial palace. How Tragedy ahs escaped with all his guest through an underground passage. Whilst she had raised the flag. Her flag. I've seen your flag on the marble arch love is not a victory march It's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah"CHAR" it had proclaimed in huge, gaudy letters. He had been crushed that day. PJ's long-suffering fri3nds forsook him and grabbed flamethrowers from Dante's arsenal to protect themselves. He had run, hiding like a worm. Looking back, his head turning the only thing he could see was her laughing, cackling while 667 burned around her. Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, HallelujahHe'd lost everything that day. His home, his friends, his love, his hope. But still he felt no pity, no remorse. Only cold vicious anger. The anger of one who has fallen from grace. He roared and gathered up huge stones, throwing them in the air. As they hit and mutilated his body, he felt a strange sense of contentedness. Calm, peace, no more wondering. Only pain, until the end. Hallelujah, Hallelujah.....My pathetic attempt at a songifc. Basically an excuse to use PChar.

I have internet accesss for another ten days, whilst I'm in Ottawa, so I'll try to have the final chapters of the murder mystery up in about 2 days. I had to have Derik cut my post count once again though. As soon as I get back up to 666, expect to see the final explanatory chapter. I might just have the huge discovery chapter up tonight.

Hm. PChar. How...boring. The stupid pairing aside, I still didn't like it much. But then again, songfics aren't my type.

You're in ottawa? I live there/here! Really? Any chance of organizing a meeting or some such? Do you live near The Market or the downtown area, or somewhere out in the suburbs? My cousin lives in The Market, and I'm staying with my uncle and aunt somewhere uptown.

I quite liked it. I didn't actually read the song part; songfics kind of annoy me. Like musicals. I don't see why people feel compelled to add song to their literature. But the actual story part was very good.
