Some people would call it stalking.
That's exactly what it was.
Crouching in the bushes, binoculars to his eyes (the typical wide-eyes of young, ambition dreamers), Snicket spied on Tragedy.
How else was he supposed to know what Tragedy wanted? After all, Tragedy kept information incredibly secret. But Snicket needed to know things, because whenever 667 was doomed, he took it upon himself to fix things.
Without the information Snicket acquired, he was sure 667 would have been destroyed a long time ago. Snicket needed to know that 667 and, above all, its administrator, was safe. He needed to know where Tragedy has his computer. That information was important. And where Tragedy practiced guitar. And that Tragedy slept in the nude. Even if the information wasn't urgent, it's best that Snicket knew, in case something happened when it would be required.
Snicket liked being on top of things.
(Yeah, that's it. I'm suited for drabbles.)

I'm rather slow sometimes, I had to read the last line twice before I got it.
