faramir/eowyn love story is really nice and i was disappointed when it was not in RotK. i did notice that when aragorn was giving his speech eowyn and faramir were holding hands next to each other and they both smiled after they looked into one another's eyes. sweet...

I saw that too. I was also a little bugged how they left so much out. Bombadil wasn't even mentioned...

bombadil is never mentioned. not in the movies, not in the radio play.... he's just not important enough. you can skip that whole section and not miss anything with the story.
though i would like to mention that me and toodles took the liberty of placing tom in our story, should you be so inclined to go read it. it's in 'chaotic creativity' under 'the purple book of utahville'. check it out, you'll laugh really hard.

He is a good character, but his stout heart would not have saved him. Gandalf's the man with the plan(and the power) HA! i now know where u got that zach! "you have a stout heart, master Gamgee, but it will not save you." MWAHAHAHA! i feel so accomplished.

Enough about Sam, Gandalf's the one who got hobbits into this final battle in the first place. Were it not for him, most would not have known what the heck a hobbit was. He figured out which ring was the one and formed the plan the hobbits followed.

Why is Sam the hero? What did he do?

gee, let's think... he ONLY took the ring from frodo so sauron wouldn't find it and he ONLY went looking for frodo and he ONLY replanted the shire. not much... Bah on Tom Bombadil. I let you write that part because I frankly dont care. Though you did a magnificent job writing it, I must say ;D 'specially since i ended up in my knickers for most of that part. we got some really nice dresses out of it though...

Sam not only stood with Frodo until the end, but he was the moral support along the way. frodo would have died and sauron would have gotten the ring if sam didn't make some of his key moves.

Yeesh, no ROTK J? I feel sorry for u... Sam is somewhat of a hero, but no one would have put Sam in the hero role were it not for Gandalf's interest in hobbits.
