I personally never read the trilogy (or The Hobbit which I plan on reading soon). Shameful, I know. I own the trilogy, but alas, have never had the time or capacity to read them straight through. Pop got spilled on my Return of the king. Darn shame too, it's a really nice set. Anywho. I liked how Jackson made the trilogy movies, and was pretty angry when I found out about all this rubbish going on with him and New Line. It just seems like LOTR and The Hobbit movies would be completely unrelated if two different directors made them. They're obviously going to have different views on the books. It all seems a little unfair. After all, wasn't Jackson the one who sold the idea of LOTR to New Line?

I'm not sure about that. But I do think this squabbling is pointless and destructive to the movie series, whoever's fault it is.

I hope they make it. for some people (like me) owuld rather see the movie. then they get inspired to read the book and laugh at how much the director missed in the movie.

Seriously, there are some scenes that a movie would just make amazing. If only they'd get their act together and make it happen.

It's not laziness they just have disagreements on how/when to do things.

Yeah, Hobbit movie would be awesome. I always liked the Hobbit better than LOTR, anyways.
Smaug will be cool. So will the war of the five armies.
But yeah, IF it ever gets done.

The Gollum scene will also be nice even though we already saw part of it in fotr. And let's not forget the eagles!

It will be completely amazing.
Hopefully one day in the future, before I'm dead (I'm 15 now) The Hobbit will be made and all of these little arguements between co-workers will cease. So let us now pray to God, Buddah, Allah, Ra, or whatever entity you like--that Peter Jackson and New Line will once again love each other and give birth to a wonderful movie called The Hobbit....and yes I know my analogy (metaphor?) or whatever it was was creepy.

Like I said, they'd probably keep the same actors for Bilbo and Gandalf, maybe they'd have a new Gloin, couldn't say for the other dwarves... There are a lot of them. Keep Elrond...

I hope they keep the actor for elrond.
He was very Elrond-y. He fit his character well in my opinion.

yes, he definitely seemed to fit the "ageless" bill required for Elrond.
