Quags, how did you come up with some last names for the canon characters?

For Justice Strauss, I thought she just looked like a Kathy. And, actually, the actress who played her was named Catherine O'Hara - but, even in the books, I could just imagine her being a Kathy.
I can't remember if there were any other canon character that I made up names for. Well, unless you count Mrs. Quagmire - who never actually appeared on-screen, so to speak. I just inserted Lorraine Baines from BTTF in her role - since I figured that the Quagmire boys would, essentially, replace Marty McFly. I picked Rupert for their father, because I figured that it seemed like an uncommon enough name - considering the names of the triplets.
Since we're on that subject, I picked Reginald as the name of Jerome Squalor's father - simply because it seemed like a classy enough name. His mother is Sylvia Larson - who is George McFly's mother in BTTF. Well, the first novel mentions for first novelization. I made up the last name, because I figured it was a nice Swedish name - and I figured she should be the one to introduce fruit soup to the McFly family.
I never came up with names for the unnamed villains, since it's hard to gain any sort of attachment to them.

How about Sawyer for Hector, Hamilton for Phil, and Logan for Charles?

Okay, yeah, forgot about those. No other reason than that I just like those names, and I just thought they sounded good together.

These are the "second/third generation" of characters from my ASORE universe. Veasna Montgomery-Fields (Cody's adopted son): The name means "lucky" in the Cambodian language, and I thought it fit Montgomery was Veasna's surname before it was changed to Fields, as Gary and Cody marry two years after his birth/adoption. Gary Fields (Cody's husband): Gary came from one of my cuddly toys, Gary the Gorilla XD And not to mention, my ex-stepfather. Though he doesn't really deserve having a character named after him. That's why he's my ex-stepdad! XD Alexander (Gary & Cody's son): My eight year old brother. Not that he or I care Louisa March (Dakota's wife): Louisa came from the famous author, Louisa May Alcott, who wrote Little Women and its sequels. March is the surname of the four main characters. Margaret "Meg" Montgomery (Dakota & Louisa's eldest daughter): Meg, the eldest sister, from Little Women. Beth (the second eldest daughter): Beth, the third eldest sister, from Little Women. This is also how I got my name. It's my mum's favourite book. Amy (the third eldest daughter): You know the drill (nd not to mention that Josephine is the name of the second eldest sister. But I'm sure most people know that.) Stephin Squalor (Esme & Jerome's eldest/only son): Stephin Merritt from The Magnetic Fields fame. Who, coincidentally, is a character in my ficverse!! Coco & Chanel Squalor (Esme & Jerome's twin daughters): Coco Chanel. 'Nuff said Jacqueline Squalor (Esme & Jerome's youngest daughter): Jacqueline Natla from Tomb Raider, Tomb Raider: Anniversary and Tomb Raider: Underworld. Harriet "Harry" Brown (Josh's wife): An OC from my Disney fanfiction. Isabella Snicket (Josh & Harry's daughter): It was just a random name. It was the first one that jumped to mind. Avril Denouement (Dewey & Kit's daughter): She was also Beatrice Baudelaire II in the original ASOUE universe. She was named after Avril Lavigne, who is also Kit's favourite popstar in my ficverse. Amy Lee Denouement (Dewey & Kit's other daughter): Amy Lee from the band Evanescence, Kit's other favourite singer. Daniel Snicket (Lemony & R's son): Daniel Handler. I'm contemplating the idea of writing a sequel with some of these characters.

Are Kit and Dewey married in your ficverse, Beth?

Yes Since they didn't die in this universe, nothing could stop them from getting married

In my ficverse they are dead and have never been married. They just lived together for three or four years!

Professor Stephenson (inventor, and grandmother of orphans). A rather steampunkish figure, with her rocket-powered train, thousand-year clock, and steam-powered computer.
This is a double reference: George Stephenson, the railway engineer, most famous for desigining The Rocket: and Neal Stephenson, another of my favourite authors; though not steampunk, he has written about the development of computers (in Cryptonomicon) and about the ten-thousand-year clock project (in Anathem).

The Stephenson orphans: Benedict is Violet's friend Ben, referred to in TEE. Scholastica - Saint Scholastica was the sister (indeed the twin sister) of Saint Benedict - though there's also a side-reference to Scholastic publishers. Jeremy, as Ben's brother, is a ice-cream reference, especially inspired by the new flavour 'Volun-tiramisu' which nominatissima told us about.
Uncle Donald (eaten by a hippopotamus) is a reference to Donald Swann, one of the writers of the Hippopotamus Song.
Ms Caudwell (lawyer) is inspired by Sarah Caudwell, author of a series of very entertaining books about lawyers.
Oh - and of course Mr Salmon, Nero's new administrative assistant, continues the fish theme of Prufrock Prep while linking it with the Cafe Salmonella, where it seems likely he previously worked.
