Zombies in the Snow, or Olaf and Olaf Junior? - submitted by discosoup
Consider the film Zombies in the Snow, which seems to have been created as a warning to Dr. Montgomery. A few problems arise from its depiction in The Unauthorized Autobiography." First, it seems that it was written by Gustav Sebald, but Gustav was killed by Olaf in the Swarthy Swamp. How would Gustav have been able to insert a warning about Olaf/Stephano into the film after his death?
I believe that that issue is best resolved by the idea that the film was not completed by the time of Gustav's death, and that another member of the production crew inserted the warning for Dr. Montgomery. It might seem a stretch that a film could be re-shot and distributed in such a short time, but with small, indie productions such things are indeed possible.
The snowman from the set of ZitS is said to be a fire survivor, implied to have been Quigley Quagmire. It cannot have been Quigley, as he specifically stated that he left his house after Dr. Montgomery's death. The easiest solution is that the snowman is hiding a survivor of another fire.
The picture of the three youths in front of the snowman features a young actor whose name is listed as "possibly Omar?" indicating that the picture is of a young Count Olaf, which makes the timeline of the the series skewed if that is the accepted identity of the boy. I posit that perhaps the boy is Olaf's son, let's call him Olaf Jr. This would make the fairy tale in The Unauthorized Autobiography of the count's son who learns the languages of animals, which on the surface seems to be about Olaf Sr. and his father, seem a bit more coherent, as Olaf has never been shown interacting with animals in such a fashion. Perhaps in the fairy tale the count is Olaf Sr. and his son is Olaf Jr.?
If an Olaf Jr. existed, and was in the custody/care of the VFD side of the schism, it would certainly give Olaf Sr. an even-richer back-story and motive for his treachery.
