Okay so obviously their posts just happen to disappear the same day that all this goes down? I don't think that was a coincidence. From experience, I know what it feels like to not win stuff. It hurts. It's not a big deal though because at the end of the day you have to be deserving of it. You deserved to win MotM and nobody is taking that away from you. Originally I didn't think anything of the results of this years MotY. MotY like most things with votes, are usually a popularity contest. There are lots of new members on the ballot this year and to have won by as much as you did struck me as odd. Especially given the slowness of the forums as of late. A few votes is one thing, but for a new member it is highly unusual to win by that much in anything on this forum. As far as multiple people using the same computer, yes it is possible. But if they were your friends and not you, wouldn't they also be using a different computer when they weren't hanging out with you? Every computer regardless of what internet connection you're using has a different IP address which some of the staff members can view. Maybe this could have been handled better. I don't know. I just wish that this didn't happen. It puts me in an awkward position because I am in charge of MotM, and MotY. Regardless of who is right and who is not in this situation I can no longer use the system I have been using to calculate the winners for MotY and maybe even MotM. Which is also not right because now I'm probably going to have to manually do it and have it double checked by an impartial staff member which is extremely inconvenient to everyone, because like you are familiar with, we all have lives in the real world and we all live in different time zones. Again, maybe this could have been done differently but it had to be done one way or another. Nobody has said you're unwelcome, just that your actions have consequences.

Thanks for clearing things up. Now I see that you are either dishonest and manipulative or crazy and delusional (a third possibility suggested jokingly by Willis is that this has all been a stunt for you to assure that you win Most Notorious). Although I still pity you, I'm also disgusted by your attempt to maintain this charade. How stupid do you think we are? I feel a lot better after reading your post. I no longer have any regrets about revealing the truth. You are correct in saying that people will believe my "version of things." This is because it is the truth (see evidence below), and also because I have no incentive to bring down a solidly contributing member. This brings me no pleasure and you could have avoided it if you had been more forthright.
Let me be clear: you robbed Hermes of an award and are now trying to play the persecuted victim after I gave him what is rightfully his. Anyone who has read the sickeningly sycophantic posts of Draven and Sorsha has no doubt that you cheated the system. You've made it even clearer with your wild explanation. But for the sake of completeness and to eliminate any remaining doubt, here you go:
1) You won Member of the Month for December (I actually voted for you) after joining the forum in late November. You went on to win the Member of the Year voting in January in a landslide. However, all 9 of your votes came from the same IP, and all 9 used similar hotmail e-mail addresses. Those accounts were: soue4evr, trixiebaudelaire, snowsong, snicketrules, unfortunateme, devinedarkness, shadow and countessolaf. None of those nine voting account had any posts, except for the countessolaf account. Suspicious at the very least, right? Still, even after seeing these accounts with matching IPs, I gave you the benefit of the doubt. Maybe you had eight buddies sign up and vote for you. But then last week after someone made a passing joke about "Draven" and "Sorsha" nominating you for almost every single Darkie, I took a look at the security log and realized... 2) You've been using all nine accounts to exalt yourself for weeks. Fine, that's a victimless crime. Unfortunately for you, the security log reveals perfectly coordinated action between the nine accounts, in terms of both IP and timing. This refutes your claims of having no control or knowledge of how your "friends and family" were using their accounts, and totally undermines your fairy tale justification of your winning the award. That was the clincher. And then... 3) came the nail in the coffin. The day that I rightfully gave Hermes his award, you deleted Sorsha and Draven, along with all their posts. In addition, the other six of your other non-posting accounts were deleted within minutes of each other by a single user (you). It was a very odd attempt to get rid of all evidence, but luckily the security log has a record of all of this coordinated behavior.
I'm done with you. I think you're an absolute clown, and I've already wasted enough time on what is a clear-cut case. I may not be an active poster on 667 the way I was when I founded this forum nearly 10 years ago, but I won't allow anyone to cheat the good-hearted people that do still post here. They deserve better from you.
Feel free to stick around 667 if you want, but stay clear of me because you have become a nuisance and disappointment. Luckily, the rest of the 667ers here are much more forgiving and understanding. Best of luck to you. And look on the bright side: I'm definitely voting for you for Most Notorious if you decide to stay. Please give my regards to Draven, Sorsha and the Tooth Fairy.

Thanks for bringing all of this to light Tragedy. I fully support your decision.

I think Tragedy's explained things very clearly, but there are a few additional circumstances that are worth pointing out as regards Countess Violet's defence. Firstly, I find it very odd that a person would have friends who post solely from that person's computer rather than their own, within minutes of each other, expressing exactly the same opinions in exactly the same persona as the original person. Very well-co-ordinated friends indeed, although I pity the person who invites their friends over only for those friends to ignore them and go on the computer. Secondly, I find it equally odd that Draven and Sorsha, and indeed Countess Violet's multiple other friends who did nothing except vote for and exalt her, never gave the slightest indication that they were so closely connected - not that anyone can check that now, conveniently! Third: Countess Violet's alleged sick relative, also never mentioned before today. What is the function of the reference to this relative? I'll tell you: Solely to make the reader feel sympathy for Countess Violet and guilt at daring to think badly of a carer. Fourth: Those "so many other posts just magically disappear and get changed huh?" Interesting how no examples are actually given or names named, probably because they don't exist. This is a pretty transparent attempt to sow distrust in the community against CV's accusers. I hope that you're all able to perceive the ways in which CV's defence is attempting to manipulate its readers using emotional blackmail, and uncorroborated, highly original "facts" which are implausible in the extreme. Do not let her trick you any further. She's shown exactly how much respect she has for the people here.
Countess Violet, I'm not going to lie to you, and indeed I never have. I liked you. But you're guilty as sin. It's time to own up and move on, for your own good. They're just forum awards, for heavens' sake.

Wow. This is very surprising, to say the least. Countess Violet, I want to believe you, I really do, but I know that Dante and Tragedy would never make such a thing up- what for? To humiliate you? Why would Dante, who has always been an outstanding and loyal member of 667 and Tragedy, that has always been a fair admin create this whole story? This makes me sad. It makes me sad that you need this attention and that truth had to be revealed like this. I hope you find some help, because as "Draven" once said, you really need a friend right now.

I will say I found it odd how many "people" started registering here claiming to be friends of Countess Violet's. Moreover, the writing style was the same; every post had a unique defensive edge, I thought, and wasn't it strange how the extras weren't ASOUE fans? Why come to a forum to associate with a single member? I think the evidence exploited here by Tragedy and the rest of the staff is cold cut. The fabricated story simply doesn't stand up to scrutiny at all. But as others have said, since the real winner has been recognized, and various plots exploited, we can all move from here. You're an active posters with a lot of interesting opinions to share, and I'm sure most would hate to see it thrown away for a mistake.

I think this whole situation is getting incredibly out of hand. We shouldn't be insulting each other in the forums. I hope everyone can act politely so we can just get everything clear.

...okay, whoa. i...don't really have much to say, because i haven't been around for a while but
i think they probably didn't mean to 'openly insult' tragedy. that's just the way 667ers are sometimes, it's our sense of humor, really.
yeah, that's one of the examples of what i was talking about. i doubt whoever nominated this 'pairing' was trying to insult him; it's just for laughs. it's how it is, really.
last i checked, it still is. i may or may not have voted that option, XD
anyway...in all seriousness, i don't know man. both sides have presented their arguments. i think there's no need to insult people much, like F.D. said. The winner's already determined, and you said so yourself that you're glad Hermes won. So let's all just... Yeah.

(Although I have to say, I found it a little strange that CV, Draven, and Sorsha all had a similar writing style/manner, and that CV had such an enormous amount of karma in such a short time. )

I’ve kept quiet about this all day, though mainly because I didn’t know what to say or believe really. However, it saddens me to say, that I have no doubts in Tragedy or Dante. They have no possible motives for framing you. I sympathise with Hermes and Songbird, because this puts both of them in a rather awkward position. I am willing to forgive you CV, but I think you should just come clean about this whole thing.
It feels like my history is repeating itself. This isn’t the first time a similar thing has happened to me.
