Over at the LS wiki we recently discovered a page entitled; Gustav Sebald's Nephew The information on the page reads; Gustav Sebald's Nephew is a little-known individual who was a member of the V.F.D. It is unknown if he is still alive, or was killed.Can somebody please help let us know if this information is indeed correct or if it is false. If someone has just made this info. up, the page will be deleted. We thank you for your help in cleaning up and preserving an accurate wiki

Hmmm... that sounds like something that could have been culled from the Unauthorized Autobiography, but I'm not sure it actually was.

I've encountered fan-made characters on Snicket wikis before, so I'd be cautious about it. But it does sound like an inference from the U.A., too. I'm pretty sure it's entirely fictional, though.

In general, fan wikis are not exactly trustworthy sources. Nor, for that matter, is the main Wikipedia (I remember seeing claims there to the effect that VFD had trained snails used to transport the Mycelium).

Does he not appear in one of Dante's own works?
I'm fairly certain he's not in canon. The reference in TUA to 'The Little Sebald Lad' might be the inspiration for him, but that could be GS himself as a child, or some other relation of his.
