Well it's July so you all know what that means. It's time for the tournament to figure out once and for all which zoo animal is the best. This Sunday, I will post the bracket. After that you will have 5 days to fill it out and send it to me. Then we will start the match ups, which will be decided via poll. On your bracket, you will receive 1 point for correctly predicting the outcome of a round 1 match, 2 points for a round 2 match, 4 points for a round 3 match 8 points for a final four match, and 16 points for correctly predicting the champion. I will send whoever gets the most points a prize tbd. If you aren't interested in a physical prize, I will send you a virtual prize of similar value such as me singing a song of your choice or a portrait of myself. In the meantime, feel free to talk about zoo animals, but try not to give away who you would vote for. You don't want to tip off your competition.

Beth, do you find a dolphin or a lion more attractive?

Aren't all animals potentially zoo animals?

Aren't all animals potentially zoo animals? I guess generally you don't find domesticated animals (eg. cats, dogs, cows) at zoos....?

The Hogle Zoo (in Salt Lake City) has random chickens that roam free all over the zoo.
Also my town has a little tiny zoo that has a few animals that are commonly pets; cockatiels and turtles among them.

The final 32 animals have been selected and it's time to begin! Hopefully your favorites made the cut, and if not there's always next year. Anybody who wants to fill out a bracket and compete for a prize can do so within the next 5 days. You may send me your picks in whatever form you wish, be it finishing the bracket in MS Paint, messaging me the picks in text form, any other creative way you see fit, whatever. If you are confused by the single elimination tournament style, feel free to ask and I'd be happy to assist you. After 5 days, entries will be closed and the polls will begin. There will be no more than 4 polls open at any given time so as not to spam MM, and the polls will be open for 48 hours unless people think a different time frame would be better. Good luck everybody! May the best animal win.

There is the general classification of "monkey", plus specific types of monkeys such as the lemur, but when it comes to reptiles you don't even include the crocodile's arch nemesis-- the alligator!
So skewed.
