Previously...
Cupid floated through the Cloud Business District after a long day of work. His iArrow vibrated, reminding him that it was almost his two-year anniversary; an anniversary that he had never hoped to celebrate. Though the past two years had been tough at best, he took some solace in the fact that Dark Cupid was now so infatuated with him that the 667ers had been safe from hatred for nearly 24 months.
Regardless of how he felt about DC, Cupid would never be able to forgive himself if he didn't buy his lover a gift. He passed a gym and got a bright idea.

Dark Cupid had been camped outside of the store all night, much to the shopkeeper's surprise. After all, there were no new products being released that day. DC didn't mind, so long as he was able to find the perfect gift for the perfect cherub-friend. He knew the moment he saw it. There was only one problem - it turned out that the business of love did not pay as well as the business of hate.
"I will need some kind of payment," the shopkeeper said. "You have nothing to offer."
"You don't realise," DC grinned, "just how far I'll go."

When Cupid arrived home, DC was waiting for him at the door.
"I couldn't wait inside," DC shouted, embracing Cupid. "I was too excited to give you your gift!"
"That's so nice, DC," Cupid said, smiling without passion. "So what did you get me?"
DC produced a small box from beneath the shawl he was wearing. He handed it to Cupid, who tore the wrapping paper open nervously. Inside was a golden comb.
"Oh... how nice," Cupid said, holding the comb between two fingers as though it might bite. "But, like, my hair isn't even that long..." He stopped himself as he could see DC getting uneasy and the last thing they needed was one of his tantrums. "Why don't you turn around and I'll give you your present?"
DC turned around in glee as Cupid pulled something shiny from his bag. Has he finally gotten me the necklace I've always wanted? DC wondered.
Cupid pulled out a massive weight that he had bought from the gym owner. With it, he hoped that he could trap DC once and for all by attaching it to his wings. He approached his lover from behind and stopped before removing the shawl from his shoulders. Was this truly what he had become? He solemnly accepted that it was for the greater good and ripped the shawl off DC.
His screams could be heard miles below.
DC turned to face Cupid, whose face was distorted in horror and disgust.
"W-what have you d-d-done?" Cupid stuttered.
"My love," DC replied, "I couldn't afford your gift so I traded my most valuable possession in exchange for the comb: my wings." He gestured to the bloody stumps protruding from his shoulders.
Cupid cowered in fear as his psychotic lover loomed above.
"Who?" he asked, shivering. "Who did you sell them to?"
DC did not have time to answer before a dark figure burst through the clouds below.
The shopkeeper laughed maniacally as he tore through the Cloud City causing chaos.
"You will live to regret this, Dark Cupid, or my name isn't Dante Reubens!"
Cupid's heart sank, a feat thought impossible for someone so loving as he. He turned to DC and whispered in fear.
"What have you done?"
