I was unsure whether or not this belonged here on in the general 'misc' board and decided to put it here.
So: in one of the most unpredictable elections in years, how do you intend to vote? (I've listed the seven parties whose leaders participated in last Thursday's televised debate in alphabetical order, plus an 'other' option.)

UK politics has got kinda ridiculous- the only one's with a chance of realistically winning are Conservative/Labour.
I would vote Labour if I were 18 by May. Normally I'd vote SNP, but since this is a general election I'd pick labour.

Even before the total wipeout the Lib Dems are currently facing (they're saying Clegg could lose his seat and some polls are predicting they could have as little as 15 seats - my MP is a Lib Dem and he's predicted to lose his seat even though he's defending a majority of 11,000) it's not as if they were a major force, even at peak popularity.

The UK doesn't just have 2 candidates? o: Every electoral district is represented by one member of parliament, and the residents of that district will vote for their MP. Anyone can run as an MP, and the party with the most MPs is invited to form the government. (I apologise if I'm sounding outrageously patronising here...) At the last election no party got enough to have a majority, so we currently have a coalition government of the Conservative and Liberal Democrat parties, who do have enough seats to form a majority combined.

The UK doesn't just have 2 candidates? o: No. It's called a democracy. You may have heard of it.

Bandit has lived in Europe, so I'm fairly sure he knows our weird ways.
And two parties is the regular system here, which was disrupted for a while but seems to be coming back. Even if we get down to fifteen Lib Dems, that's more than when I were young. Even in America others can stand. (Ross Perot. Locally, Bernie Sanders.) But the system disfavours them.

It's worth noting that, although they formed part of the coalition government, the Liberal Democrats actually lost seats at the previous general election (though I believe their total share of the vote was slightly higher than previously). It'll be interesting to see how things go for them at this election. Also, as a fun fact, I used to live in Nick Clegg's constituency. Times sure have changed.
The constituency I presently live in is a Labour seat with the Conservatives some way behind and the SNP and then the Liberal Democrats on their heels. In that situation - as in most seats, if we're honest - there isn't really much of a choice at all.

Did you by chance watch the drama Coalition that was on TV a couple of weeks ago? Because they basically said exactly that. Nick Clegg gets more votes, yet the mathematics still says he's a loser. My constituency is Labour (Aberdeen South woo), although actually I agree with a fair few of the Liberal Democrat values, but Nick Clegg is a snake *cough* tuition fees *cough*. Until they get a new leader and improve their image I wouldn't vote for them. Also please don't vote Green- they want use to leave NATO and stop all oil production in the North Sea. Crazy.
