so i've designed this logo for a thing and i think it turned out pretty neat, but right now it looks like pencil drawing on paper (which is what it is) and not like a logo. so i was wondering if maybe some of the more tech-savvy artists in here know how i could like digitalize it, you know, make it look more like a logo, and maybe also colour it digitally? it's a pretty basic design so i thought maybe i could do that myself, but some advice would be reaaally helpful. like, what (hopefully free?) programs could i use/ how to use them
thanks so much in advance to whomever responds!

Paint.NET is a free alternative to Photoshop (GIMP is another, but I've never used it), most importantly it has the layering feature, which I think would be needed in your case. Just scan you drawing, maybe scale it up to create a large original; then create an empty layer on top of that and recreate it with the tools you have (guided by your drawing underneath, which you can see): the tools being circle, square and straight lines, which you can also bend if needed; colour and fill in as you wish.
If you wanna be like really professional the way to go is Adobe Illustrator, but it's not free (and I couldn't help you with it, but it shouldn't be that complicated and probably worth it if you wanna design logos regularly). It produces vector images, which means you can scale them to infinity without them getting all blurry/pixelated.

oh hey, thank you, terry!! this is mostly a one-time thing i'm doing as a favour for my sister, so i wasn't planning on spending any money, but i'll definitely check paint.net out. i'm only worried about how i'll be able to work with these tools- maybe the design isn't as simple as i made it out to be. i've already scanned it, though. i'm about to go to sleep right now, but do you think maybe i could PM you the drawing sometime tomorrow, just so you could have a better idea of what i'm going for/give me your opinion?? if it's not too much trouble, of course

Sure. I can't promise I'll be able to help if it's not possible with the programs I suggested, but I'm certain the design should be manageable.
