these are incredible!! amazing how well you can adapt to various drawing styles. love your take on the quagmires, esmé, and dr. montgomery montgomery. and the comics were a delight as well (even though they were both quite sad).

You're clearly very skilled, but since I don't know too much about the more technical aspects of drawing, I'll just comment on your choice of subjects. =) I really like the attention to detail and small nods to Helquist's illustrations, such as Violet's dress in the portrait after the video (which I unfortunately can't watch with sound right now, as I'm in a public location and don't know whether the librarian is an enemy or a volunteer). It's nice that you have such personal interpretations of the characters while still including subtle familiar elements. It's a little difficult for me to see Violet this sad. Of course, she's pretty much doomed to sadness by her source material, but I think you do a very good job of communicating that. Particularly the little comic with Quigley's notebook stirred up a little bit of emotion (also, bourbon is a very Baudelaire-y drink, isn't? I agree that it's probably something an older Violet would choose to drink). The Baudelaires in their blood-stained uniforms is a very powerful image, since we're used to seeing them in illustrations aimed at 10-year-olds, but nevertheless I think it adds a kind of horror that you enjoy as an older reader. Violet and Quigley are cute! I've only actually ever seen one episode of Steven Universe, but I enjoy Rebecca Sugar's contributions to Adventure Time, and recognise her style enough to get the reference.

*bursts into song* THROUGH ALL KINDS OF WEATHER WHAT IF THE SKY SHOULD FALL...
You're amazing; you like SU, and picture the Quaqmire family as dark-skinned. 667 has another awesome, if fatigued, artist. The picture of Violet and Isadora is the cutest thing.

Don't worry, it's only double-posting if you post twice in a row without anyone else posting in between. =) I'm sorry to hear about your reason for venting through Violet. For what it's worth, I think it's a great asset of your art that it can evoke emotions like those.
I really like the Widdershins picture! I just finished re-reading TGG a few hours ago, and the captain is actually one of the few non-illustrated characters I'm having trouble visualising, but your illustration helps me with that. Also, I really love the Knight poster! It's stylish and decorative, yet expresses the character well. You mentioned in another thread that you had a professor who worked at Dreamworks. Might that be why there seems to be a bit of Toothless in your Ink?

are you the one who said they were gonna do an asoue based animation on tumblr a while back? Oh man, yeah, that was me... but then I had work. Haha. I'd still love to do an ASOUE short, but I'm not sure when I'll get the time between original shorts and freelance work for studios. Money makes everything more complicated.

Officially in love with Eno's artwork, particularly the invisible ink advert.

I loved it all, but Violet on her 20th birthday was what really got to me. I really don't know anything about art and have trouble drawing even stick people, but I still enjoyed seeing all this. I quite like Klaus Baudelaire "The Insightful".

I remember your Cleo submission for the competition last year Are you an animation student/graduate? I'm just about to go into my final year of an animation degree and I'm getting the impression that you've gone through something similar.
