A bomb? Someone's wife's severed head? A jack in a box? Plutonium? Schroedinger's cat? Schoenberg cereal? etc, etc... just tell us already!

A mystery and/or secret, obviously.

That's really, really, really cool. But...
(1) What's with "LemonySnicketLibrary.com" all over the stuff? I mean, the Bombinating Beast statuette looks great - why ruin the underside of it by turning it into an advert? (2) 12 profiles + 2 blank ones? Really? It's like they're trying to avoid the number 13 on purpose.

I like your toy squid in the background and that random rock in the last picture. Also good to see your windows are double glazed, energy efficiency is important.

(2) 12 profiles + 2 blank ones? Really? It's like they're trying to avoid the number 13 on purpose. Four blank ones. I just flipped two over to show what all the cards look like on the reverse. I like your toy squid in the background and that random rock in the last picture. Oh, that's an ammonite fossil I found a few years ago. you happened to be one of the sweepstakes winners or...?? It's nice to be appreciated. Look forward to the unfurling of the paper. Other notes: The insignia on the envelope is actually silver; the wax seal is actually plastic, but does have very powerful glue applied; the back of the Bombinating Beast is sprayed blue to match Seth's illustration, which bears a close resemblance to a light reflection at the right angles.

Congratulations Dante!
But was not the BB meant to be returned to its rightful owner? I'm not sure it is a good idea to have every associate possessing one.
I, too, am rather puzzled by the number of associates. I was going along with Bee's theory that the thirteenth is 'you', but now it seems that there are four 'yous'.
And now we have all the cards - but should we comment on them now, or continue waiting for them to appear at LSL?

Four blank ones. I just flipped two over to show what all the cards look like on the reverse. Oh, I don't know why I saw it as 2 cards. Of course there are 4. Oops. Still, it's odd they don't have 13 character profiles instead of 12.

Someone's wife's severed head? dammit terry i was just about to make that joke. anyways i gotta say the package was fairly disappointing for the most part (the box art, associates package, ?1 instead of ?4 or even better, a coded message/secret story/etc... just generally too demure and uninspired) except for the reveal of the bombinating beast.

i knew you were going to say something like that.
EDIT: when i used the word 'demure' i was mistakenly thought it was a synonym for lazy but now that i've looked the word up obviously i discovered i was wrong.
