Film-wise it looks like more of the same old same old. I don't even know if it's the same director as the last HP movies, but it definitely looks like it, so it probably (and boringly) is. Story-wise I can't say, I didn't read the spin off book. I likely won't watch the movie, but I guess it will be enjoyable enough.

I've read FB and it's nothing like it. The movie is a story whilst the book is a textbook about, well, fantastic beasts. Never judge a book by its movie, as I'm sure that you know from the horrendous ASOUE movie...
Well, you couldn't really turn the book into a film. Unless you did it as a documentary, David Attenborough style, I suppose. The film is about the author of the book and how he found the fantastic beasts.
Age: Indeterminate (prematurely aged by a life of villainy).
Newt is traveling--intending to stay in NYC for one night--and the creatures are already in his possession prior to somehow getting loose. How much he knows about them prior to that plot-starting event is unknown.
Carma: I found out earlier today through fb that Linda passed away earlier today. There's a youcaring fundraiser for her family I can pass on if anyone's interested. I don't know how many people she had friended on fb but ofc she was very important to us here...

Carma: ...so I would want to make sure that people knew. I could make a thread too, where would be best? MM?

Chastise: MM is probably the place for it

Zortegus: Trip is gonna make a thread later, and we've been thinking of some ways to collaborate not only to her family but also the many projects, causes and organizations she was part of.

Mr. Dent: I won't post in her thread since I never truly got to know Linda, but she was still one of the most recognizable people on the forums. She always seemed so vibrant. I don't really know what to say, but I still feel like I should. I'm sorry for your loss.
