Letter From The Editor
This has been a busy time for the 667er. As well as organising the print edition, this has also been happening. Because of the heavy workload, this issue isn't actually near finished as I write this, and it probably won't be completely finished by the time you read this either (Edit : Nope, all finished) . But This is about the last possible date I could post this before christmas, so this will have to do. If people haven't sent in articles then I will leave the space and edit it in later.
But There is some good stuff here already! Another great History of 667 issue! Another interview-type thing from anka! Another poem! Some guest writing! And also some christmas cracker jokes. Does everyone know what christmas crackers are? I know Anka didn't. (well if you don;t know what they are ) But anyway, i decided to fll this issue with random cracker jokes. Enjoy
But this is going to be the last issue for a (short) while. As I said before, these last few weeks have been very busy.. but the 667er will be back in February 2016 (and perhaps something a little special before that) and there are some big plans for what will happen then... but enough rambling. Lets get on with it!
- Mister M
What do they sing at a snowman's birthday party?
Freeze a jolly good fellow
For this months interviews, 667ers have been asked the question 'What are your plans for 2016?'
Anka: If everything goes well I will finish university and move to England and try to get a job there.
Bee: Currently I'm waiting on a decision from my first choice university, which is pretty big and important to me. If I get in there it would be fantastic, but if not I still have a secure backup, so I'm definitely gonna start uni in 2016 (physics yo). I'd like to carry on learning Spanish and maybe start learning some more languages. And I'd just like to focus on having as much fun and new experiences as possible. I think 2016 will be a pretty big year for me and I'm really looking forward to it.
BSam: nothing specific, but i would like to live a little healthier. maybe manage some travel as well
Charlie: I'm moving to Melbourne after hopefully getting into Medicine at uni (tho I have to pass an interview first). So hopefully by February somepoint, Aussie hangouts will be happening more frequently . Then the rest of the year will be uni and work I guess. I also have a Korean reality show I'm excited for in the new year!!! And also all these kpop groups are coming back early next year which should make my life even better!
Comet: If all goes as planned, 2016 will be the year when I enroll at university to study Linguistics. I'll move out from my parents' house and into the Big City in the other end of the country. It'll be the year I get my first apartment, maybe share it with a friend of mine who's considering moving to the same town, but since my studies are so far away, he's the only friend I have who seriously considers going there. I find that scary, but exciting, which must, all in all, be a good sign! I guess the distance means I'm going to get a taste of which friends I'm going to keep close even when we're far apart, and which ones will become rare aquaintances, but I know there's at least a few that I won't let go of no matter what.
But all that's not until September, and until then, I'm going to spend my time hunting down small jobs to keep financially even, and looking for apartments for when the time comes. I'm hopefully getting my driver's license in the first half of 2016. Oh, and I'm going to read a lot of books and watch a lot of movies and TV shows, but that's true for every year!
Emerald Snicket: As of now, my plans are to learn fluent French and read ASOUE and Harry Potter in French. Also to do the Popsugar 2016 reading challenge. Yeah... Lots of reading.
Lemona: Take as many train journeys as I can afford (which will probably end up being about three but whatever), keep looking for work (to bump up the total a little hopefully), continue being a human (sometimes on trains), and properly sever ties with some relatives (probably not on a train). Yay.
Linda: My plans? On 667, or in general? Um, I am not sure. To get all the stuff done I need to.
Mister M: Get a Job, be happy, make other people happy, earn more money, improve the 667er, and think about moving out.
Pen: 2016 remains mostly an enigma to me, in that i still don't know exactly where i'll be living and studying. here's what i *hope* will happen: i'll move out of my parents' to study journalism in (a) college in a (specific) different city. that's also all very new to me, 'cause i've been living in the same exact place since i was born, went to the same school for most of my life, around more or less the same people. so i'm planning for 2016 to be mindblowing in a good way.
Peppermince: My plan for 2016 is to try harder in school and apply myself more.
Sophie: In 2016 I hope to graduate high school, go to some fun music festivals, and head off to my first semester of college! Also I wanna do one of their pre-orientation programs where you go hike in the mountains for a week. So I mostly plan to learn some stuff and make some new friends! My church group leader also might try to hook me up with an internship with a doctor which would also be lots of fun.
Why not add your own answers? PM me or Post them below!
Why did Santa's helper see the doctor?
Because he had a low "elf" esteem!
(As featured in the 667er print edition)
Yes, this is a trivial thing but ARRGH GEE WIZ. I have always aimed to be a smooth, exceptional and respected gift-buyer. When a person I know has a gift-receiving opportunity and receives a little procession of disappointing and meh gifts, they can at least be safe in the knowledge that Lemona's gift would delight them, and be presented with un-replicable style, though they can't even guess at what it will be - it's that good. Yes, that situation is my aim, and I am periodically working on it. It's one of the many things that make me wonderful to know or be related to.
HOWEVER. This is not an aim I can be expected to carry out under certain extreme conditions.
I happen to be related to two people who are quite possibly the most difficult people in the world to buy gifts for (it's quite a claim to fame). They don't have much use for the kinds of gifts most people buy, and don't lend themselves to the individualistic gifts, having no known hobbies, with the possible exception of following the footy. I gave them both all the footy merch they need years ago.
I have a couple options. 1) Give them something they already have millions of because at least they're know to like it; B) pick a thing more or less at random and hope they'll fall I love with it; or III) give food. Food is good, but ONLY food doesn't feel like an impressive gift.
It isn't their fault probably. I'm not blaming them, merely ranting about it because it frustrates me birthday after birthday and Christmas after Christmas.
What do you get if you cross Santa with a duck?
A Christmas Quacker!
History of 667
A column by Linda Rhaldeen
Welcome back to History of 667. Today we're going to try something a little different; rather than following one topic back to early days of 667 I'm going to do a 2015 Year in Review.
The year began with Bee attempting to make contact with Dante, who coldly ignored her. When that failed, she turned to arson. Kyle won the 2014 Member of the Year and there was much rejoicing.
In February, Cupid made his (her? their?) annual appearance and there were like 2 pages worth of Cupid threads.
In March the internet exploded over an article of clothing that was blue or yellow or something, idk. Also all the 667ers killed each other repeatedly. And a bunch of people that know nothing about basketball and maybe a couple that actually do know about it did a March Madness Bracket.
In April we had the "If all 667ers ____" trend (example). We discussed possible romantic attachments and LSWannaBe/Freebird was born? I'm pretty sure I've been shipping them for longer than that, but now I know it's canon.
In May we held the Darkies and Sophie ruined them with her "vote for the less-obvious candidate" (still bitter #Lindora2015 didn't win). Songbird started an all-girl motorcycle gang. Also s accidentally talked about 667 in a job interview and it was adorable.
In June we had our 13th Anniversary, and Hermes was kind enough to compile everything into one post.
In July Big Brother began, this time run by Mister M and Lemona, and Shia LeBeauf became an inspirational icon. Peppermince had his very first all-nighter at 667 before anyone even really knew who he was. Awww.
In August Sophie and Liz met irl, and then like a day later Sophie won Big Brother, making everyone green with jealousy.
In September Google changed its logo and I still can't stand to see the new one. Bee finally got a response from her beloved Dante. The last ATWQ book was offically released on September 22nd, but a bunch of British 667ers got it early.
In October Charlie came back! And he got 96th percentile, I believe, so as sad as we were for him to be gone, he was off being a major smartie. We ended up having a pretty in-depth discussion of holidays. Also Adele ruined Lionel Ritchie's legacy.
In November Peppermince came up with ideas for a bunch of sitcoms. Also Sophie came up with a series of increasingly philosophical threads, including while you're alive, when you die, and how to get away with farting in public.
In December it was announced that Netflix, which had announced an ASOUE series the previous November, was holding open auditions for Violet and Klaus. Also Pandora psychoanalyzed us without telling us. We debated the similarities of certain 667ers to certain containers.
Interested in seeing a specific topic covered? Send me a PM and I will do my best to cover it in a future issue.

And a bonus poem by charlie
Faded Dreams, a not very good or fun poem
Like spectral moths tumbling,
Scorched paper twisting through the air
So are my dreams.
Slipping away from me as I rub the sand from my eyes
Patches and snatches of memories and emotion.
Faces turning sour, turning away
Within reach but intangible
Pulled by gravity (inevitable) till they reach the ground.
All dreams are destined to fall, to fade, eventually.
Y'all are probably wondering where I am right now. I'm currently in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia and floodville extraordinaire. Among the days which I spent fattening up myself and making myself look more like a talking, self-rolling inflatable gym ball, I managed to find the time to write this little story for y'all to read in this issue of the 667er. This little story might bore you to death because it's set at Jakarta in the past and features a character from my book. Enjoy the shameless promotion for my upcoming book.

December, 1734, Ye Olde Jakarta (lol)
"Ellen, what do you want for this Christmas?" Margrete asked her friend, who was busy working on her embroidery. "I want a new party dress!"
"Oh, come on, Grete. You already had that green dress from France a few months ago!" she replied as she finished stitching the leaf of an orange blossom. "I'm sure you can ask for something else!"
"Of course I want to be fashionable!" Margrete said. "It's a necessity!"
"Whatever! I just want to have snow this Christmas." Ellen said as she stared out into the lush greenery and the bright sunshine outside. "It would be nice to go skating for once."
"Snow?! In Batavia*? You're kidding me!" Margrete said. "We're in the tropics! And where would you want to skate? The Ciliwung River?"
"Ah, whatever. It must be my imagination working up again." Ellen said in shame. "I'll just ask for a new fashion doll. I'll ask the house slaves to copy the doll's clothes, probably."
"Good for you, then! You're starting to think about fashion now!" Margrete said.
Ellen returned to finishing the border of the embroidery. Margrete tried to talk to her, but she didn't respond. So, she continued with her embroidery of a Javanese mousedeer, all the while sulking about why she couldn't get a new dress.
.............
"Shouldn't you give a present to Ellen too, Grete?" her mother asked as they read the invitation that had arrived on their mansion's doorstep. "We're invited to the can Houtens' dinner party on Christmas day!"
"Oh, of course, Mama!" Margrete answered.
"What should we give to her, through? I've thought up a gift for Mr. and Mrs. van Houten, but I have no idea on what to give her."
"This afternoon, Ellen said that she wanted snow in Batavia this Christmas. But we can't do that, of course."
"Let's just give her something more suited for a girl her age." Margrete's mother said.
Suddenly, Margrete sprung up from her couch. "Mama, I have an idea!" she exclaimed. "I can put a little snowy place inside a jar! I can make the snow from shredding some paper, and I can make a little house and some trees!"
"That's a good idea, dear! You can also ask Agus or Siti for help, too." her mother said.
"Alright, Mama! I'll start working on it!" she replied excitedly.
.............
"Oh my God, Grete!" Ellen said as she opened the present from her friend. "I love it! It's my mansion and the courtyard outside, covered in snow!"
"I know you'd like it." Margrete replied. "Of course, I couldn't actually bring snow all the way from the Netherlands. But I can make a little snowy house, just for you!"
"Where did you get the idea for this?" Ellen asked. "I couldn't have thought of it!"
"I saw Mama's mosquito-warding lotion jar and it kind of looked like snow. Then I thought of your wish." Margrete answered.
"Thank you for the gift, Grete! You actually listened to me for once!" Ellen joked.
"And you never even listened to me! Not even once!" she teasingly replied.
Ellen and Margrete spent the rest of the Christmas party happily dancing and eating with each other. It was, probably, the best Christmas they had.

Hello, me again. No filler this issue, but i've been too busy. In fact, there probably won't be filler ever again, or at least, not filler as you know it. There will be some big changes to the 667er next year, hopefully ones that you wll all like and enjoy.
Speaking of next year, referring back to what I said at the top of the issue, there will be a little something special happening next month - On January 31st, to be exact. We will be holding a special penthouse party on that date. Details of what exactly will happen there will follow in due course, but there are already some big things being planned. I hope you come, and I hope you have fun.
I love christmas, and this christmas will be especially fun as I get to spend it with anka. It would be even more fun if i could spend it with all of you guys on 667 though . And hey, I like christmas cracker jokes! (One last one - Who hides in a bakery at christmas? Answers on a postcard!) And there are still three more days to go till christmas, which means three more days of the advent calender. Hope that they're good ones guys
