I like it. Penguin does cool cover art sometimes, I own their version of The Jungle.

I dig that one^ I don't know whether the Crime&Punishment cover fits the tone of the book very well, but in itself it's pretty rad. I also like a similar thing Penguin did with the cover of Kerouac's Dharma Bums, when it was drawn by comic artist Jason:

Mervyn Peake's Gormenghast trilogy was also designed and illustrated by the author and it's pretty dank (I really dig all his moody drawings): Not to overload one post, I'll just link to this cover by Peake, because it's also rad.

awesome covers for moscow-petushki. the illustration in the latter is apparently self portrait with demons by james ensor, from 1898(!)

I've already received comments from four people about this book's cover design, and I enjoy it myself as well: (The book itself's also quite good so far.)

In my opinion, some of the best book covers of all time are that of "The Chronicles of the Imaginarium Geographica" by James A. Owen. The same goes for the series' illustrations - all done by the author himself. My favourite is that of the third book:
