*WOOO*
Yes, that woo is there for a reason. That's because im throwing myself a birthday party in honour of mr. handlers birthday. Theres cake and balloons, and also a large amount of paper plates, which is odd as i'm the only person here. Ah well, more cake for me.
But also this is our thirteenth issue! Which is surely a fitting enough tribute in itself. Happy Birthday!
I don't have time to say to much in this months editorial (deal with it) because ahhhh i'm busy. Comet, Anka and Zortegus haven't sent their articles yet. Hurry up!
- Mister M
Comet's are slow or something
• J-Bird won MoTM for January. Congrats bro.
• The VFD door is back and ongoing now, started up again, seemingly, by Willis. Although the original competition was marred by controversy, this one doesn’t have to be, so you should all participate! This time winners can also write the next puzzle, giving them an opportunity to earn more points, which was not the case back in ’08.
• People are sharing there snapchat names, and it would be nice if more of you guys used snapchat. Although I had to look up an acronym peppermince sent me the other day and it made me feel old
• Febuary 28th saw Daniel Handler’s 46th birthday- if you haven’t done so already head over to the thread created by Dante to commemorate it.
• Some user called Doetwin has probably single-handedly made some of the most numerous and original asoue threads in BBooks this month.
• I think there was a penthouse thing???
• Cupid was here earlier, and valentines were sent out. Spread the love!
• Daniel Handler had a new picture book about a goldfish announced. More importantly, he’s also got a YA novel in the works with loads of sex. Whoop.
• There’s been a strange user MrFoxy4470 lurking around online for weirdly long amounts of time in the past few days. He/she has no posts but their profile seems to show them looking to contact swans again. Weird.

# 2 - Oh My...
Antenora wrote Dragon Ball Z/Anne Frank fanfiction. Or maybe not.

Pandora, we warned you.
I know present to you power rankings by
TERRY!!!!!
POWER RANG KINGS
1. Daniel Handler, the birthday boy. And thanks to Dante for writing the bday letter. Also he should probably apologize to Bee for hijacking the Handler-birthday thread she made first.
2. Peppermince. Our fav mints meat is stirring up some welcome activity with threads about sexting apps and his wacky real-life sitcom life adventures.
3. The Aussies in Melbourne. This is also probably the only way Charlie could ever find his way unto a power list curated by me. Good for you. Lemona, on the other hand, always seems in power, so no surprise there.
4. Willis? Tragedy? Whoever's responsible for handling or initiating this year's 667 puzzLes game. I'm sure they're a lot of fun if you have more patience for them than myself.
5. Bee, Anka &Mr M for receiving and sharing the 667 Member of the Year 2015 award.
6. Mr M, again, just bc he did a print-version of the 667er a month ago or so. That's pretty dang cool
7. Cupid, for spreading some niceness around 667 (and wisely opting out of bringing his evil twin, Dark Cupid)
8. J-Bird, for winning January's Member of the Month.
9. Éponine Thénardier, a new member we hope to see more of.
10. Terry. Yes, me, for taking a super vague question about ~cool people~ seriously and giving the best answer I can. Also I'm underrated, so if I won't appreciate myself, who will!
Rant: Inadequately placed train stations
No i'm not Lemona. Its me, Mister M, filling in for Lemona once again. But okay, this time I maybe actually have a sensible thing to rant about. Lets give it a go.
I like trains. Okay, I understand that this isn't generally the best way to start a rant, but it's important that you understand that I really do like trains. I like to sit on trains and read and stuff, and I think that its the best and easiest way of transport. Except for when it isn't.
So I am starting a new job thing in a few weeks. It's a cool but complicated things focusing on experimental new ways to print books in Braille (among other things), but I won't go into that to much now. A good way for me to travel to my job is by train, it's only one stop away. But the problem is the position of the station.
Most stations tend to be in the centre of whatever City/Town/Village for which they are named. This train station has not followed this rule. In fact, it is pretty much outside of the town entirely, probably about 15 minutes walk away. As annoying as this already is, the problem only increases when you understand the station is on the complete opposite side of town to my desired destination. In fact, its so far away that my house is actually closer to the workplace than the station that is named for the town in which the workplace is located!
Oh well. I guess I'll get the bus.

Birthdays: There are two things to say when talking about birthdays on 667. The first thing is something that is really recent in one way, because it just happened yesterday, and not as recent in another way, because we didn't do anything for it this year. I'm talking about Daniel Handler's birthday. It's on the 28th of February, and in the last few years we always made a present for him. It's normally a thing where everyone can help somehow. Last year there was the Snicktionary, a selection of words with snickety defintions, and I also remember when we sent him a number of wrong questions with illustrations. We even got answers for that, that was cool. But this year somehow nobody had time to and wanted to organise a present. So maybe someone who is new and reads this wants to help with that next year.
Of course 667ers themselves have birthdays too. If they have their birthday shown in their profile, or sometimes if it is known in some other way, they will probably get a birthday thread where everyone can say happy birthday. Usually the threads are made by Hermes, but sometimes other people do that too.
Chapter ?
Having a wooden leg had always seemed comical to him. This may not be a normal reaction to losing ones leg only to have it replaced by a piece of wood, but that was, nonetheless, his reaction.
He had been the captain of his ship for many a year. He had weathered many oceans and survived the most ferocious of storms. He had even survived a very nasty encounter with a shark. But this storm was bad. Exceedingly bad. The waves crashed against the ship so violently that standing upright was something to be cheered. The wind up on deck cut through him so fiercely that it was near impossible to breathe. And the lgting that flashed cross the sky made the whole terrifying scenario flash before his eyes, before disappearing away into darkness.
But at least he had a wooden leg. He could laugh about that.
Was he truely a captain though, if he had no crew of his own? Years ago he had a crew of course, but slowly, one by one, they had dissapeared into the great unkown. The mission was to treacherous they said, to risky. Some of them had tried to find their way back to land, others had simply jumped overboard and tried to swim back, others had simply vanished.
And now he was all alone, out here in the storm, in the middle of the ocean.
He couldn't blame them though. They had all said the ship was cursed, all of them. The rest of the crew had always ridiculed this - curses, bah. Just myths and legends. It wasn't real, none of it was.
Exepct now he knew it was.
Or did he? Had he just gone mad from loneliness? From being away from dry land for so long? Widdershins had told him they would all go mad eventually. Was he right?
Another wave crashed against the ship, and his heart near burst inside his chest. He looked around the cabin, ran over to his desk, and opened the draw.
He opened the package carefully, and took out the small box. He put it inside his pocket, and placed the package back in the drawer. There was a deep rumble and another crash of lightening. This was going to be a long night.
When he woke up, the sun was bearing down upon him. He could hear the cries of gulls, and the feel of sand under his back. He tasted bllod in his mouth, and he sat up, and spat out a tooth.
He was on a beach. How did he get here? This didn't make any sense. He heard a noise behind him, and he turned around to see what it was.
Having a woodne leg probably wasn't very funny, especially when someone hits you over the head with it.
History of 667
A column by Linda Rhaldeen
Welcome back to History of 667. Today's topic of interest: romance!
When you bring up romance at 667, probably the first couple that springs to mind today is Mister M and Anka; they have met multiple times, successfully made the transition from e-couple to real-life couple, and are all-around adorable. But they are just the last in a long tradition of romance at 667.
One of the first and most well-known was Dante and Antenora, Dantenora for short. Their names even match, which is 100% on purpose; they were originally known as FFWF and Tocuna respectively, and after he wrote a Dante-esque story, the two of them changed their names to Dante and Antenora (one of the levels of hell). In fact, since both of them are intensely personal it's entirely possible that theirs has become an IRL relationship without telling us. One thing is clear, for years they were known as the power couple of 667.
Fast-forward to 2007, and the big power couple is Fancy and Tragedy. The two had known each other since 2002 through the old ASOUE website UE.net, she had followed him to 667 when he created it, and years later the two began skyping and developing a relationship with each other, one that culminated in Tragedy driving 10 hours to see Fancy in her play. In 2008 she became co-admin, and...yeah, they ended up not working out, so there is that.
Later, Fancy invited her new significant other, Mike Mountain, to 667. Which now that I think about it, is kind of weird. Oh hey baby, this is the website run by the guy who I used to date; do you want to join? These two are mostly just an IRL couple, but I'm including them here since they did both have accounts and several of us talked to Mike Mountain on google hangout.. Also he introduced us to Gordon Dioxide.
Another mostly IRL couple that I'm including is M and Derik. These two originally met and became friends on 667, then mostly left but still stayed friends with each other. Years later M came back to let us know that the two had moved in together.
Another thing that's worth mentioning is that it used to be extremely common to get e-married on 667. While some of these e-marriages actually had romantic feeling behind them, others were just for fun, or an excuse to have a party, but they do deserve a mention. On this thread people listed all their e-marriages, with A. and PJ each married nine times, and Alice married 12 times. Familial adoptions were also pretty common, as evidenced by this thread. Some of the most famous and polyamorous that spring to mind are the Thingagon, the Merry Band of Lesbians, and the marriage between A. and the 4 personas of Derik.
There have been other, e-relationships that never reached real-life relationship status but were more serious than the spontaneous e-marriages. These, listed in roughly chronological order and by no mean exhaustive, include BSam/Trish, Freshie/Dupin, Skeleton Key/Grey Snicket, Alice/Akbar, Tragedy/Sophie, Terry Craig/Pen, Charlie/Bee, me/Nicole, and Charlie/Teleram.
