What I really hope for is a paperback edition of the whole series, those that look a Victorian penny dreadful. I totally hate that they only produced the first 3 of it. Alas, they're not really anything to do with the TV show, though, are they? It would be great if the TV show could be used as an excuse for reviving those, but there isn't really a connection, unfortunately; special TV show tie-in editions are more likely, if anything. Sadly, I think the penny dreadful ship has probably sailed, given that people like Brett Helquist and Michael Kupperman have started freely releasing the material they had produced for future installments of the series. Edit: On further reflection, I think tie-in adaptations sometimes spur new releases of a book series which aren't explicitly related to that tie-in adaptation but are just coasting on that franchise's return to prominence... but I think the penny dreadful line was probably innately flawed (word on the street is that they just weren't selling), and Helquist and Kupperman's contracts have clearly expired, so.

My predictions
-New editions of the series with a nifty "now on Netflix so watch it now!" sticker on it.
-A collection of Funko Pops that I will fight small children for because that is really what I went.
-A year after release the series is released on DVD much like the other Netflix shows.
- People making more fan made T Shirts and Etsy stuff.

So I just made a thread asking what merch people would like to see, then deleted it because I realised that's basically the same as general speculation. So here's the thoughts I've been having:
- VFD Spyglasses
This is a little risky, because it'd be all too easy to make a cheap plastic version as merchandise for the show, which would just be disappointing. But if they made a more show-accurate spyglass (maybe one that would split in two and function as a spyglass - is that mechanically unrealistic?), I'd be thrilled. A good spyglass replica would be a nice shorthand for a Snicket cosplay, which can otherwise be hard to recognise without looking at people's feet.
- Funko Pop Figures
I still want these! It just seems really obvious to me. The show is exactly the kind of thing they'd make a line out of. The main characters - especially Olaf, obviously - go through so many different outfits, and the general wardrobe of the show has the kind of style I think could be very effectively simplified to the figures' level of detail while still being recogniseable.
- The Incomplete History of Secret Organisations
I'd like to own a copy of TIHoSO. I compared it in another thread to Journal 3 from Gravity Falls, which was a very successful example of taking an in-universe document and making a real-life piece of merchandise out of it. The journal adds details that weren't in the show, without ever conflicting with the source material. Nothing in either medium contradicts that the book you're reading is the same as the one in the show. If Netflix were to repeat that trick with ASoUE, TIHoSO would be the obvious candidate.
Of course, this would be the riskiest thing of all to produce, because we'd very easily risk getting too much information; I think most of us would actually prefer that the lingering mysteries of the series aren't actually answered. I know I would. So I'd feel ambivalent about having this, because it's a large book, so even with a good amount of padding and good will, they'd have to fill it with as much information about VFD as possible - and that's something I'd rather get from subtext in the main books. Still, it'd be an interesting object to own.
- Various random items with the VFD insignia
Specifically, I'd like to have some VFD coasters. I can always make my own, of course, but it'd feel nice to know that other fans out there had the exact some ones, connecting us like an actual aristocracy of the plucky. Other relatively cheap flat round objects would be ideal as well.
I'm also very much hoping there'll be a home release of the show. Streaming as a means of watching things is all good and well, but at the end of the day I have to feed my compulsion of owning the things I like.

I would LOVE them to produce V.F.D. insignia pin badges or necklaces or something like that.
The spyglasses would also be amazing.
Also, I would also love actual DVDs of the show, with behind the scenes stuff and things like that. I totally agree with your compulsion to own the things you like, Comet. I want to know that I could watch the show even if my internet died.

Pin badges would be great! Also VFD-motif playing cards, if done stylishly. Maybe some VFD earrings to go with the necklace? That'd be a nice level of subtlety, though not having pierced ears I'd have to miss out on those. VFD tie pins would be cool!

I'd like the soundtrack once the final series is out!

YESSS to earrings (having fairly recently got my ears pierced I'm very excited by earrings in general, so V.F.D. earrings would be fantastic), and I love special playing cards, so those would be cool, too.
Ooh also maybe hair pins (like the ones Kit has in the illustrations, but with the insignia on them)? OH and I would love them to create ASOUE themed signet rings, like the ring in The End.

Audiobooks narrated by Patrick Warburton Great as that sounds, it feels like a betrayal of Tim Curry.

I agree with Linda. I'd also love to see a soundtrack and a calendar. It could be one book for each month.

Less concerned about a betrayal of Liam Aiken? I suppose at least you could present them as in-the-moment versus retrospective readings.
