Hey, so like use this thread to quote another 667er out of context. So like if they say something in one thread that's a sexual innuendo or whatever, please feel free to quote that because you're hilarious. The one rule is not to quote from PMs, or things that were obviously already a joke. Yep. We don't have friends here. We don't have friends here. This year's Darkies need a "best out-of-context quote" award. I propose Best Out Of Context Quote. Repeating what I said in the other thread: While last year the OOC quote thread was a bit dull, honestly, this year it has been very active and there have been many exciting quotes in it; Bee's 'digital baby', Linda's 'one-dimensionally evil Pandora', Comet's 'I want to see yours and show you mine', to name but a few. I propose Best Out Of Context To be fair, though, who doesn't? It's not like there's some specific conversational cue to ask someone to marry them. I hope out of context quote wins, then hermes can stop mentioning it every other post yourself. I mentioned it twice. I think we really could have an award for Best OOC Quote this year. I thought for the longest time that you were saying I was acting out of character. I only realised what you meant when you suggested it as the special category in the Darkies thread. So here we are: the Darkie for Best Out of Context Quote. Whose can it be? Bee's 'digital baby', Linda's 'one-dimensionally evil Pandora', Terry's 'I just got off', Sophie's 'I killed a guy', Peppermince's 'this girl in my class died' (funny only if you know the context), Bear's 'Zortegus's pictures of his Beast', or Lemona's 'Hermes is obvious but awesome'? No. The winner is, perhaps not surprisingly, the quote that inspired this award: Because I want to see yours and show you mine. Also because I'm specifically curious to see the extent of Dante's after it was discussed Congrats Comet (author) and Lemona (quoter)! Winner winner chicken dinner.

Congrats Mister M! It's incredibly well deserved - the 667er is always a highlight of the month, and one of the most interesting things happening at 667 today.
Anka, apologies for posting so soon after you, but it took me about half an hour to put that together, so I thought I should go ahead with it.

*belts* "And I'll stand here with the Darkies, feeling things I've never felt..." There's probably a better Wicked lyric reference out there, but that's the one that popped into my head, because it's wonderful (that totally wasn't an intentional reference!) sharing one of the prizes with Linda!!! The L's are killing it indeed!!! I really didn't expect to win most compassionate, so still a little floored about that, but thank you!!! Huge congrats to all the winners!!!!

I know I'm double posting, but it's on a totally unrelated topic because I have an award to present!!! And this may not be a double post, since someone could already be posting as I type this, in which case please ignore that first sentence!!! As stated in the description of the "Best Pairing" award, it "goes to two members who have some kind of special connection to each other. They can be friends, rivals, a couple, or anything." And that is really hard to pull off over the internet. In rl, we register people's connections through all sorts of ways: they dress similarly, they're always seen together, are on the same wavelength in conversations, snipe/glare at each other in a way that tells us this competition they're engaged in might become the stuff of legend. Not only do the members of 667 have only their words, a like button, and perhaps a knack for timing to convey whatever link they have with another member (less than most social media sites in their early days), but there has to be enough evidence in the forums so that when new members see the names up for the award, they don't feel their eyebrows are in danger of disappearing into their hair by the severity of their bafflement. So congratulations to all on not only being nominated, some of you multiple times in someone's company or other, but for maintaining your commitment to whatever you and your person share. For that you're all winners...except only one pair gets a Darkie, so two of you are more winners than the rest (including maybe you and another person). And the nominees are: Peppermince and Bear! Bear and Mister M! Lemona and BSam! Mister M and Terry Craig! Linda Rhaldeen and Pandora! Zortegus and Terry Craig! Bee and Dante! Pandora and Terry Craig! Sophie and Pen! AND THE 2016 BEST PAIRING DARKIE Award WINNER IS... A TIE!!! With five votes each!!! Sophie/Pen AND Peppermince/Bear!!! Congratulations to you four!!!

"sophrindle" is the worst portmanteau i've ever heard, the correct name for them is "pophie"

And now it's time for our award for our Best Volunteer, or as I like to call it, the Dante award. This award is given to those who have made an outstanding contribution to the Lemony Snicket fandom in the last year. Fittingly enough there were 13 nominees: Hermes, our resident philosopher, always full of maturity and wisdom lorelai, who makes up for her lack of sight with an abundance of insight gliquey, active in BBooks and active in our hearts Esmé's meme is meh, our Argentinian friend who brings great insight into the costuming and SFX process of the Netflix series suda21, who broke the news of Patrick Warburton being cast as Lemony Isadora Is a Door, who outside of the forum spent time this year translating TUA into Braille Unfortunately, none of you got any votes . That was rude, 667, why even bother to nominate them? We also had Dante, longtime moderator of BBooks and even-longertime redhead Invisible, ardent shipper and fanfictioner A comet crashing into Earth, a Danish volunteer who wrote the Netflix column for The 667er Who each received 1 vote. Then there were B., a Scottish maths genius who managed to get us a contact with the man himself. Go ask a question in the Q&A thread by May 31st thedoctororwell, a French volunteer and founder of the French language forum La Pente Glissante Cafe SalMONAlla, an Australian with high fashion sense and even higher levels of patience who transcribes old Handler interviews for fun Who each received 3 votes. However, the one who ended up winning this time, with 5 votes, was someone who is responsible for finding and organizing much of the information we have about the upcoming Netflix adaptation, something for which we are truly grateful. Congratulations, ryantrimble457!
