-- Only the raddest of the rad, I don't settle for 'rather nice' -- 1 thing: go for official posters, not fan re-designs, which can be really good, but there's a lot of them and that modern minimalist thing is gettin kinda tired imo. But if you're burning to share it, then whatever, I guess. International posters are welcome, though.

wack statement, even though true in hollywood. check out '60 and 70s movie posters from Poland - diverse and as creative as it gets. Good choices so far (except for space jam). Considered putting up the Only God Forgives poster myself.

A classic, but for good reason--I think this poster is up there with the best ones ever (if link is broken: it's the one for Silence of the Lambs): Owes a good debt to René Magritte (who also worked in advertising), but it transcends mere homage through its perfect symbolism of the story it advertises, and being iconic enough to stand on its own as a great design. Also note that the skull on the moth is actually from Salvador Dalí's photograph of women's bodies forming a skull.

ok so I'm gonna cheat in my own thread here a little, as this poster isn't for a movie, but an episode from the ridiculous series tim&eric's bedtime stories... which, as i found out today have some *awesome* posters--one for each episode. they kinda nail this old-school horror film vibe, while still making it clear that it's a pastiche. i recommend checking out all of them. here's for the jason schwartzman episode: Some other favs are the ones for bathroom boys, baby, tornado, and the duke. EDIT: Apparently they're all made by this guy.
