Louis tags Sonnenfeld in this picture. His caption indicates that he isn't their leisurely since he is apparently not allowed to ride the horse. This and the tag suggests that the horse has a specific purpose related to production. It could also mean Louis is contractually forbidden from doing anything the production deems too dangerous as he is a high value asset, but that seems a bit sketch and boring. Let's go with the fun one! Sorry, I'm going with number two on this one. This was posted on a Sunday, making it a bit unlikely he was working that day. Too, the tag #sundayrunaround, seems to reinforce that he's not working. Granted that doesn't explain why he'd go see a horse if he weren't allowed to ride it... But yeah, he's almost certainly contractually forbidden to do stuff like that, injuries on horse back has downed many performers (though ironically, more often when being used in production rather than leisurely). And looking at the location tag for this post there's not a stable nearby, so I'd guess this picture was taken earlier in the day (though I guess someone could have a personal stable in the area, but looking at it there doesn't really appear to be land to go riding, so I'm a little doubtful as to that). In fact, looking at that area on Google street view I'd say this is possibly the area he's living during filming (Granted, I have no idea how accurate location tags are), it looks to be residential. There's also a theater right next to the tag, so I suppose he might have been there.

Remember that according to their schedule, on Sunday they're only having a production meeting and some people is arriving. The horse is probably not part of the show.

I considered that contract angle, but after some research I cant seem to find any sort of precedent for an actor contract that forbid an actor's personal freedoms during their off time so arbitrarily. It would require a rather extensive list of activities to forbid or else the actor would constantly have to call in to production to ask for permission to do things and just can not find any examples of it. Now, of course, this is just speculation and not at all serious, but I do believe, like you pointed out, that it would be strange for Louis to go to a stable if he couldn't do anything there. The horse may simply be a background prop, I mean there wasn't a llama in any of the books but a llama sure as hell was in season one and that said llama was posted on instagram too, 5 months prior to the show's premier. So it's not really all that far fetched. http://instagr.am/p/BJUGTmnBLyx

Today on both Malina and Louis's snapchat stories, they both posted pictures clearly from a read-through (their name cards and scripts) which means that everyone from the first two episodes has to be cast. It seems pretty pointless that they're clearly beginning filming soon and yet have made no casting announcements. I hope that they actually just announce the casting this time around, instead of waiting until the last minute.

Considering now we know for sure they'll be filming Season 2 and 3 back to back, it makes sense they won't make announcements related to the cast until later.

Even if it's not a contractual obligation that doesn't mean that the director or parent/guardian didn't ask him to refrain due to the production. Honestly, the more I think about this post the more it just looks like a kid pocking fun at his director while running around on a Sunday afternoon (We know Sonnenfeld is a cowboy after all). Too, they're filming TAA first and I'm not sure how they'd add a horse to that story. Anything is possible though. I still have trouble wrapping my head around the fact that we're going to get them all. One of the great injustices of my childhood was that the ASOUE movie was so disappointing and, of course, the series was never finished on film yet Harry Potter got all these fancy movies for every book. I love HP but man, the Baudelaires deserved better. Kind of hard to believe its finally happening. I truly resented Harry Potter as a kid. Everyone was reading those books while I was the only kid in the entire school that was reading Lemony Snicket. The school library didn't even have copies of the books. Meanwhile everybody and their grandmother was watching those movies and buying the truck loads of merchandise to go along with it while I was wondering why on Earth Lemony Snicket's merchandising involved magic 8 balls and terrible card games. I am truly glad that the Baudelaire's are getting their moment in the sun, especially as a critically acclaimed show on a trendy streaming site that's changing the industry. Take that Harry Potter! Granted, I know it's not really Harry Potters fault, but he had his moment in excess. Now it's Lemony Snicket's turn!!! Now, if Netflix can give us some awesome merchandise I can finally right that childhood wrong!

I imagine Netflix is probably easier to work with than Nickelodeon too. Way easier, by all accounts every netflix original production team has praised netflix for it's hands-off approach to producing. It's standard tradition for studios and producers to not only mettle in production but to strong arm it when it thinks something can be done to better hone in on a demographic for better monetary returns. Netflix seems to rely solely on algorithims and if a show is greenlit they believe that the material, in of it's self, and the creators are all that are needed. So they give the production all the space they need to create. It helps that, unlike films and standard television, that Netflix doesn't need to compete for the individual dollar, per se, or have it's own content compete for time slots.

The word beneath "LATIN" is "LIBRARY", but I can't reliably make out anything else.
