Do you think we'll get any advance casting news? Or will they keep it mum like last time and announce closer to the release? I'm guessing they'll be more open this time around. For season 1 I think the secrecy had to do with keeping all of it a surprise, but now that we know the tone, what all the main players look and act like and the basic aesthetic of the visuals there's not much reason to maintain that level of secrecy going forward. For the second season of Stranger Things they've been a lot more open, they released a trailer 8 months before release as well as numerous photos and interviews. Granted ASOUE won't ever get a trailer that early due to the large amount of post production, but I think it's likely we'll see more photos and interviews this time around. This is a hit show after all, so Netflix will likely try to keep it in the public consciousness between seasons. I think we'll see Esme's casting soon. Esme's role in the season will be very large, so it would make sense if she were added to the main cast (those few that appear in the main title credits) rather than being just a recurring player (like the troupe members). Too, they'll probably announce some of the guest stars as they did with season 1, though rather sparingly. I like the sound of that! Do you think we'll get any good set pictures? I'm guessing the official account might be more generous with teases on set, but there's probably not a good chance of sneaking a peek, especially because most sets will be on sound stages. Probably like last year, if there's an outside set, it's bound to be shared, but obviously there's not an access to anything else. Maybe we'll get to see 667 Dark Avenue? Either way, I'm excited for any teases. My gut tells me they'll keep a lot of the side characters under-wraps, but I would love for a big Esme announcement. I hope that she's not billed as part of the main cast, at least not at first, because that'd spoil the big twist with Esme.

I love that Patrick has turned Lemony into a sexy baritone mysterious enigma. I love this new canon. Move over Jude Law!

I find some of the posts and fan accounts really weird, particularly as they've suddenly appeared for the first time ever over the past year. Like those made by people who might not know all about the finer details of the series but have a crush on Louis Hynes, for example, or those saying how low-key SHOOK they are, parodying Snicket's writing style really badly, making awful fan videos with clips messily thrown together, editing screenshots and putting stupid quotes over them, saying what an admirable feminist Klaus is in capital letters (or just writing anything everything in capital letters). Perhaps it just comes with any TV show involving young people and also because of the 'fan account' culture that's recently grown, but there are certainly many fans out there who aren't as well versed as I was always used to Snicket fans being, to put it one way

Well a lot of them are in middle school and elementary school. It's easy to lose that perspective when online and think everyone you are talking to is your age, but in reality a lot of the people you talk to or even debate with are still in 6th grade.

It wasn't substantially different when the books were originally published; it just took a different form. Less fanart, then, certainly less video; more forum posting and fanfiction.

I particularly hope they're young if they have a crush on Louis Hynes.

I'm certainly scared of the sexual comments young people (mainly girls) make on Dylan's and Louis' Instagram

Honestly I still can't believe it's happening. Like. I keep expecting it to get cancelled at any second, just cuz I never thought I'd see the rest of the series on screen before...well, before I made them one day. But this is a much easier way to get them done. Hoping for more updates soon.

Found this image on twitter. Can anybody make out some of the names on the schedule that we don't already know ? pbs.twimg.com/media/C8I6jelV0AA-ZBv.jpgI think that one of them is Patrick Breen who played Larry in the Wide Window. But I can't really be sure.
