Top use of VFD in this context, mate, and welcome to the forum!
As for Netflix, I'm very excited that they're starting some promo action for the series.

Thanks! I've been lurking for a while but didn't know if the site was right for me. When I found this, though... the world must be warned!

Thanks for bringing this up - the website does look like it could become very interesting. I don't know what to expect, really, but hopefully they're planning to gradually add more and more to the site over the next 3 months. I do think it's almost a shame that the ASOUE Facebook page shared the ParentHerald article about the website, because "secret" no longer seems an appropriate description.

Oh dear, what a horrible site and sight!!! It is very fortunate that no auditory moments are available.

It's been pointed out on Twitter that Netflix has nabbed quite a number of V.F.D.-related web addresses, and which now return what you might call a veritably false denial.

I think I know where most of those names come from but there's one I don't recognise: - "Veritable French Diner", "Valorous Farms Dairy", "Vincent Francis Doyle", "Vineyard of Fragrant Drapes" and "Various Finery Disguises" are from TUA (and the last two are alluded to in TCC).
- "Vessel for Disaccharides" is what Kit calls the sugar bowl in either TPP or TE.
- "Volatile Fungus Deportation" and "Verse Fluctuation Declaration" are from TGG.
- "Verdant Flammable Device" is from TSS.
That just leaves "Very Frightening Danger". Is that a reference to the series? I've also found VolunteersFightingDisease.com, VillageOfFowlDevotees.com, VeiledFacialDisguises.com, VeryFreshDill.com, VernacularlyFastenedDoor.com, VeryFunDay.com, ValleyOfFourDrafts.com, VerbalFridgeDialogue.com, VioletsFifteenthDate.com. Wow. Although I'm sad to say my favourite acronym, "Vinegar-Flavored Donuts", is not a website.

Very Frightening Danger is from the U.A. copyright page.

I don't recall 'Voracious Film Discussions' or 'Vital Fan Disclosure' from the books - could these be more tv-exclusive acronyms? Both of those could easily be used for exactly what their domain names say.
'Violetta Frogg-Drifter' only appears in ATWQ, if I recall correctly?
Since 'Vinegar-Flavored Donuts' isn't there, do anyone know of any other VFDs from the books which aren't registered as domain names? Come to think of it, there's a lot of different potential spellings of that - Flavoured/flavored, donut/doughnut, and whatever you end up doing with the hyphen. I guess they'd use the American spellings, though, and none of the other addresses use hyphens (Violetta Frogg-Drifter is supposed to have one), so I guess we're not in doubt about how to write the address.

Both of those could easily be used for exactly what their domain names say. The latter I believe comes from a form letter Handler used to send to fans a long time ago (or possibly still uses). I don't know where, if anywhere, the former comes from though. I think so. From FU13, right? I tried the American words with and without a dash - I presume they would use the way they spelled it in the book. I didn't expect them to have registered it, but I didn't expect them to register the other 3 dozen domains either. It's pretty awesome of them.
