Over the course of the advent calender, the 667er has been posting various features. I have decided to combine them all into one feature here, with a few new articles as well.
towards the end of 2016 we asked various 667ers what their plans were for the coming year. Now, 12 months later we have asked these same people 4 more questions.
1. What happened to your plans for 2016?
2. What would you like to happen in 2017?
3. What do you fear will happen in 2017?
4. What do you think is the most unlikely thing to happen in 2017?
An assortment of awnsers are collected here. If you want to still contribute, it's not to late; just post your awnsers below or PM them to me. You can also join in if you haven't taken part before.
Anka: If everything goes well I will finish university and move to England and try to get a job there.
1. Yes, that is more or less what happened. I'm still at the beginning of looking for a job, and I was hoping to be more in the middle of it by now, but that is because I got a part time job working from home in the last 3 months.
2. I hope that I will find a job and that me and Mister M can find a place to live. I also really want to find a place where I can do Irish dancing again, or at least something else that I find fun.
3. Stupid things will keep happening in the world (like wars, terrorist attacks, Trump, Brexit,...)
4. Me being able to think of a creative answer for this question.
Bee: Currently I'm waiting on a decision from my first choice university, which is pretty big and important to me. If I get in there it would be fantastic, but if not I still have a secure backup, so I'm definitely gonna start uni in 2016 (physics yo). I'd like to carry on learning Spanish and maybe start learning some more languages. And I'd just like to focus on having as much fun and new experiences as possible. I think 2016 will be a pretty big year for me and I'm really looking forward to it.
BSam: nothing specific, but i would like to live a little healthier. maybe manage some travel as well
Charlie: I'm moving to Melbourne after hopefully getting into Medicine at uni (tho I have to pass an interview first). So hopefully by February somepoint, Aussie hangouts will be happening more frequently . Then the rest of the year will be uni and work I guess. I also have a Korean reality show I'm excited for in the new year!!! And also all these kpop groups are coming back early next year which should make my life even better!
Comet: If all goes as planned, 2016 will be the year when I enroll at university to study Linguistics. I'll move out from my parents' house and into the Big City in the other end of the country. It'll be the year I get my first apartment, maybe share it with a friend of mine who's considering moving to the same town, but since my studies are so far away, he's the only friend I have who seriously considers going there. I find that scary, but exciting, which must, all in all, be a good sign! I guess the distance means I'm going to get a taste of which friends I'm going to keep close even when we're far apart, and which ones will become rare aquaintances, but I know there's at least a few that I won't let go of no matter what.
But all that's not until September, and until then, I'm going to spend my time hunting down small jobs to keep financially even, and looking for apartments for when the time comes. I'm hopefully getting my driver's license in the first half of 2016. Oh, and I'm going to read a lot of books and watch a lot of movies and TV shows, but that's true for every year!
1. Okay, well. The university thing - well, that happened, and I'm enjoying it immensely, even as I'm curled up in my bed much of the time, denying the existence of the outside world out of fright from the prospect of my oncoming first university exam. I see that I've been pondering on which of my friends I'd keep, and that's mostly held true. I haven't seen much of very many of my them, but there's a small handful I've been writing with regularly. What I'm surprised to see is that I don't seem to have considered the possibility of making new friends (my lack of faith disturbs me). As it is, I've made a bunch of new acquaintances whom I very much enjoy spending time with and getting to know - and what's more, since we all mostly study linguistics, we can make as many bad puns and linguistic observations as we want without the risk of seeming weird.
I didn't get a handful of small jobs, but I did get one, as a substitute teacher, which I had for a few months until the summer holidays. I also got my driver's license as planned, just about halfway through the year.
2. I would very much like to pass all my exams next year on my first try, because I know how stressed I'd be at an exam I'd already failed at once. More importantly, I hope to have fun, maybe even find the energy to move to a dorm or apartment closer to the mid-city (as it is, I have just under an hour's transportation to school). Oh, and I'd also like to find true love, achieve world peace and see You-Know-Who admit that it was all a joke and he didn't really think anyone would be stupid enough to vote for someone with the views he pretended to have; but those wishes are all so common they won't entertain anyone.
3. I'm terrified that the Netflix series will be bad, and consequently paint me in a bad light to everyone to whom I've recommended ASOUE over the years (i.e. a whole lot of people). Fortunately, I feel confident in the hands the series has been placed in: The people behind Pushing Daises making a TV show of A Series of Unfortunate Events - it's not only wonderful, it's a specific fantasy of mine come true.
I also fear for the educational system here. It seems like our government is cutting down on everything good and beautiful in order to keep people out of the country.
4. Half-Life 3, though that's fine by me, as long as we might get Portal 3 instead.
Emerald Snicket: As of now, my plans are to learn fluent French and read ASOUE and Harry Potter in French. Also to do the Popsugar 2016 reading challenge. Yeah... Lots of reading.
Lemona: Take as many train journeys as I can afford (which will probably end up being about three but whatever), keep looking for work (to bump up the total a little hopefully), continue being a human (sometimes on trains), and properly sever ties with some relatives (probably not on a train). Yay.
Linda: My plans? On 667, or in general? Um, I am not sure. To get all the stuff done I need to.
Loreali
2. Personally, I'd like to get a fairy tale I wrote a few weeks ago published. Globally, fewer celebrity deaths, please.
3. I'm trying to adopt the personal philosiphy that aside from life threatening situations, fear means you worry twice, so no direct answer to this one.
4. I think it is unlikely that I will get to see various authors and musical theater performers in 2017. Too many authors to mention, but you pass up one Bernadette peters concert to volunteer at a summer daycamp for blind kids, and the woman never comes near the west coast of the US again!!!
Mister M: Get a Job, be happy, make other people happy, earn more money, improve the 667er, and think about moving out.
1. I got several jobs. I was happy. I can't speak for other people, but I hope did. Definitely. Hopefully. Possibly I thought about it.
2. Continue having a job, continue to be happy, and earn more money (yes I know it won't buy me happiness. Hopefully the 667er can also continue to improve (or just improve). Also do fun things with Anka
3. That I get attacjed by a dinosaur
4. That I don't get attacked by a dinosaur hides
Pen: 2016 remains mostly an enigma to me, in that i still don't know exactly where i'll be living and studying. here's what i *hope* will happen: i'll move out of my parents' to study journalism in (a) college in a (specific) different city. that's also all very new to me, 'cause i've been living in the same exact place since i was born, went to the same school for most of my life, around more or less the same people. so i'm planning for 2016 to be mindblowing in a good way.
Peppermince
1. i did worse in school this year so they didn't work out
2. i want to get a girlfriend and get an A in any subject.
3. i fear that my best friend will move schools and that i will be left alone
4. the most unlikely thing to happen in 2017 is my best friend moving school and leaving me alone
Sophie: In 2016 I hope to graduate high school, go to some fun music festivals, and head off to my first semester of college! Also I wanna do one of their pre-orientation programs where you go hike in the mountains for a week. So I mostly plan to learn some stuff and make some new friends! My church group leader also might try to hook me up with an internship with a doctor which would also be lots of fun.
1. Everything I planned came through! Though my interest in medicine has dwindled. I did get to shadow a pathologist, though, which was fun and cool!
2. I would like to continue to feel engaged with my courses, make some closer friendships and become more involved with the radio station. I also hope Trump doesn't totally ruin reproductive rights and paths to citizenship for immigrants. I would also like to get an interesting job or internship over the summer.
3. I fear that Trump's administration will give racists more social leeway to voice their twisted opinions and more opportunity to get away with concrete discrimination.
4. The most unlikely thing.......that David Bowie resurrects?

The 667er presents
Netflix News presenting
beatricetriptych presenting
an abbreviated publication of
A Visit from Count Neil’trick’ris
‘Twas two months before air-date, and all through the web
Snicketologists waited on news of Queen Deb
And her boyfriend, Tony, and even a snake
As incredibly deadly as coconut cake.
(Supposing you haven’t an allergy got
To coconut—what an unbearable thought!)
When last issue we left you, less weary than now,
We told you of previews, which were released (and how!)
Periodically throughout the rest of the week
Building up to a trailer uncommonly bleak.
A spyglass, a photo, a woman of gold—
Discussions for days on what story they told!
Where there’s fire, or cigar, is there always smoke?
Is the Count (played for laughs) marketing, or a joke?
And perhaps the show will not be tonally sound—
Look, a new preview where fantastic beasts are found!
And a villainous Count, or so-called “NPH”
Spoke again of the show on the View’s TV stage.
And again laid out here by our friends from Brasil.
Seems whenever you ask him to speak that he will.
The images, new season?, fans witty and vapid!
The news when it’s slow and the news when it’s rapid!
Our various topics an overflowing cup,

Snicketfic of the Season: The Christmas Tree Who Couldn’t Stop Whining, by Sherry Ann.
Christmassy Snicketfics are quite rare, perhaps because of the Jewish qualities of Lemony’s works, but some of his picture books do have a Christmas theme, and one of them, The Latke Who Couldn’t Stop Screaming, is the inspiration for this beautiful and provocative piece by Sherry Ann. Its central character is less attractive than Snicket’s latke: while it was frustrated by not being understood, the Christmas tree is upset at being exposed to other cultures. As a result, while the latke’s story has a bittersweet ending, the Christmas tree’s fate is more definitely tragic. The story, which is not only written in the style of Lemony Snicket but illustrated in the style of Lisa Brown, is skilfully crafted, providing an elegant counterpoint to Snicket’s original, and has a powerful moral.
667fic of the Season: 667 Christmas Party Apocalypse, by Bryan.
Christmas-themed 667fics, by contrast, are relatively common, but none is more memorable than this splendid story from Advent 2012. As the members of the forum celebrate the end of the year by partying hard, no fewer than five 667ers (no fewer, but possibly more) concoct plans to bring about the apocalypse and end life on earth. The story, told from multiple points of view, manages to show us everyone’s plan without breaking the suspense. Only one of the plans succeeds, but which? We have time to ponder this mystery before Tragedy, in an admin power surge, restores the world to life, enabling a plucky band of detectives, led by Dante, to find the solution. The personalities of many members, including the notorious Countess Violet, are brought out effectively, and the story ends with a moving plea for unity, which surely helped to gain the author his coveted title of fourth most beloved.
Originalfic of the season: A Faerie Tale, by Fancy.
While Snicketfic and 667fic are the most common genres of fiction here, we do, as I mentioned at the start of this series, sometimes see original fiction as well. This lovely story of a clockwork princess, by our former queen, combines fantasy, romance and gentle humour, with some fourth-wall-breaking moments which recall Snicket’s work. Much remains unexplained (another Snickety feature?) and we never find out how there came to be a clockwork child in the first place; but she gains our sympathy as she defeats a villain and meets a romantic lead. Published in Advent 2010, this is a festive treat.
Incomplete crossoverfic of the season: Doom, Overall Feeling Of, by Lemona Snicket.
I have not included this amazing work in my regular columns, first because it is not clear which section it belongs in, and second because it is, sadly, unfinished – though each of the two ‘apportionments’ it includes is as long as many complete stories. It is, nevertheless, well worth reading. It links the world of our site with that of Lemony Snicket, imagining a number of members of 667 as residents of the apartment building of the same name from Lemony’s work, and, like most residents of that building, obsessed with what is in. The first apportionment tells of the impact on 667ers of Jerome Squalor’s engagement, while in the second a number of residents go on a cruise, only to stumble across some mysterious messages implying a threat to their home. We will never know, I fear, what happened next, and how their adventures relate to those of Mr Snicket or the Baudelaire orphans (unless Lemona chooses to take up her typewriter again), but what we have is fascinating. The story is written in a splendidly Lemony style, which made me wonder at the time whether Lemona was Daniel Handler.

The 667er: Welcome to The 667er interview Lemona! Our short-lived admin.
Lemona: Hi, thanks for having me.
The 667er: Were you surprised to suddenly become admin, and then just as suddenly not be admin anymore?
Lemona: Yes, very x2. They both happened while I was kind of in the middle of something and casually checking 667 quickly so it was an alarming experience. It may be over but I will always remember that I came into power on the same day Donald Trump did.
The 667er: Did you have any plans that were interrupted by your loss of power?
Lemona: Yup. Dunno if I should share them on the off-chance I get to carry them out one day. Several involved avatar-changing. Not my avatar either. One change I did enact was making the box where the username goes green. On the strength of that alone I was clearly a great leader. I also got to indulge in a small amount of censor ickleery, and on one occasion waste our dear Dante’s time with some thread-title-changing.
The 667er: You live in Australia.
Lemona: Correct.
The 667er: Do you like it?
Lemona: Yes, more or less. I'm extremely fond of my home city Melbourne specifically, more so than of the overall country.
The 667er: What unique perspective do you bring to 667 as an Australian?
Lemona: As for perspective, come talk to me about yeast extracts spreads and you'll see.
The 667er: I do not know how old you are exactly.
Lemona: Good, because that's for me to know and everyone else to, er, not know.
The 667er: Are you working? Going to school? What do you do on a day-to-day basis?
Lemona: I'm studying at uni part time and working part time, only I'm not studying at all at the moment because of summer break.
The 667er: Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10? 20?
Lemona: In a job interview somewhere being asked this exact question.
The 667er: What sorts of things do you like to do in your spare time?
Lemona: Write, cook, complain, aimlessly ride public transport as cheaply as possible and consume a lot of various entertainments. The last three are my techniques for shutting my mind up. I also like to travel properly when I can afford it, and at the moment a lot of my spare time is being used for one of two projects; my advent calendar contribution plug plug, and an entry into Brooklyn Art Library’s Sketchbook Project 2017.
The 667er: What is your favorite television show? Why?
Lemona: Urrgh I’m the worst tv watcher in the world, meaning I can practically never commit to a show. I’m a movie person. Dunno if I would necessarily say it’s my favourite, but recently when uni was stressing me I rewatched the first two seasons of The Adventures of Pete and Pete and it was even better than I had remembered and you should all see it if you haven’t. (Third season isn’t crash hot but it’s fine.) Bear and Pepper especially should see it because of one of the people who contributed to the show’s music.
The 667er: Let's talk about your family. Do you have any siblings?
Lemona: Nah, no siblings. I have a ickletonne of cousins however, a few of whom would be cool to have as siblings probably.
The 667er: Any pets?
Lemona: We have a family dog by the name of Cherry, who is 13 years old and still behaves like an excitable puppy. She’s a foxy terrier crossed with jack russell plus some other stuff.
The 667er: I remember you talking about your dad; do you live with him?
Lemona: I do indeed live with my dad, who is currently napping in the room with me and being disturbed by the keyboard noises. He could always move to a different room but no.
The 667er: What is your favorite color? Why?
Lemona: Everything in this unedited colour wheel. Purple is probably my number one favourite though. I have purple bedroom walls because I’m a child. Idk it’s regal or something right?
The 667er: You joined 667 just about 7 years ago - December 4 2009 according to proboards.
Lemona: Oh man, today’s my 7th anniversary. (The day I’m writing, not the day of publication.)
The 667er: How has 667 changed in the years you've been around?
Lemona: We got a user-unfriendly shoutbox boo hiss and Emma left boo hiss. We also went through a 2012-2015 non-wilderness period with ATWQ which was nice.
The 667er: How has it stayed the same?
Lemona: It has stayed a baffling place.
The 667er: What is your favorite thing about 667?
Lemona: My favourite things about it are some of the people I’ve gotten to know and forced to put up with my company. *suavely* You know who you are. Another favourite thing is the 667er, and a close third is Linda’s glorious Rocky Horror adaptation, which has been an awful lot of fun.
The 667er: Least favorite thing?
Lemona: Least favourite part is I guess unwarranted (to me) arguing and drama etc. But unwarranted is a matter of opinion and it’s usually easy to ignore so I’m not too fussed.
The 667er: Is there anything you have learned that you might not have learned if you had not joined 667?
Lemona: Never refuse a breath mint. If 667 hadn’t existed DH wouldn’t have had the chance to impart that.
The 667er: And finally, is there anything we haven't covered yet that you would like to tell the people of 667?
Lemona: Thanks for helping me take my mind off things periodically; eat your vegetables; don’t try to fit a whole pencil into a knot in a wooden table like I did about 10 minutes ago while procrastinating finishing this interview.
J:
Jokes: Like most groups of people, 667 has some inside jokes that most other people don't find funny. There were especially many of them in early 2013 when there were a lot of video chats where funny things happened, and it caused a big discussion because people who couldn't or didn't want to do video chats didn't like it. Most of those hangout jokes are forgotten now, but there are also some other jokes which turn up every now and then. For some of them I don't even know where they originally came from, because they existed before I joined, for example asking Linda if Mormons celebrate birthdays. Another thing that comes into my mind is Bryan dying in fics, which happened a lot when I was new, but hasn't for a while, probably because he's around much less.
I actually can't think of any more recent 667 jokes at the moment, but I'm sure someone else can, so feel free to discuss them in the following posts

History of 667
A column by Linda Rhaldeen
Welcome back to History of 667. Today's topic of interest: History of Advent.
Well, history of advent at 667, at least. The original advent dates back to 19th century Germany. 667's advent began in 2012, started by Kit's tits kick ticks, our resident German (though currently living in England). Traditionally, advent runs from December 1st through 24th, with a small little something to mark the days before Christmas (December 25th). At 667, each day someone shares something creative with the rest of the forum.
We are now on our fifth year of 667 Advent, and it's come to be known as the high creative point of the year at 667. We have had artwork, quizzes, videos, one-shot stories, text-based games, new chapters of existing stories, poems, singing, weird images, elf yourselves, puppet ballets, jokes, and many, many more.
Want to explore further? take a look at all the creativity we've had over the last 5 years:

History of 667
A column by Linda Rhaldeen
Welcome back to History of 667. Continuing on in the tradition of last year, this issue will be a 2016 year in review.
We'll begin with January. B. won Member of the Year. A thread about the sun and the moon led to Comet revealing his ginger-ness far earlier than any of us realized. Reba became a Trump supporter before it was cool. Neil Patrick Harris was cast as Count Olaf, Malina and Louis were cast as Violet and Klaus in the Netflix series.
February saw the start of uni for Charlie, which led to Melbournian meetups. Cupid also returned for a bit, and the term Pandora level became a thing.
In March soufflé let us know about her crush on a dead guy and both Pepper and Mona started their own clothing lines. We also discussed cereal and cars, and Reba and @peppermince switched profiles temporarily.
In April Kit's tits kick ticks got some competition in the form of Poe's Coats Host Toast. Esmé's meme is meh called us all animals, M David Steel discussed his "apprentice", and Reba decided to hate on dancing. Filming began for the Netflix series.
Tryina Denouement got to go the Chicken Church in May. We also learned about wine that was named after us.
In June we received answers to a series of questions we had asked Daniel Handler. Comet got to have TWO birthday threads. Big Brother started up again, and I met Charles Vane (who STILL hasn't uploaded our pictures grumble grumble). And @peppermince attempted to start a rival paper. We're still waiting on issue #2, kid .
In July we talked about cotton candy aka candy floss, aka fairy floss. We also told some embarrassing stories. Reba jumped on the bandwagon 4 months late and started his own clothing line.
In August Tryina Denouement asked for pen name advice (she has since published her book!). trip won Big Brother, yay! Filming wrapped for the Netflix series.
September saw discussion on the taxonomy of primates. The Paralympics seemed to receive more attention than the regular Olympics.
In preparation for the Netflix series, Esmé's meme is meh started a reread in October, called the Perilous Preparation, right as we got our first teaser trailer. MisterAnka, years in the making, culminated in Kit's tits kick ticks moving to England to live with Isadora Is a Door. Tryina Denouement won the competition for the forum's new banner. houseymousey, a mysterious person self-described as "I'm not Tragedy but I work for him", appeared and began digging for information for their murder list oops I mean poll for the new admin. Also I wrote a new 667 musical and BSam recorded the songs.
By early November Cafe SalMONAlla had been installed as new admin and Isadora Is a Door wasted no time in sucking up. At about this time a certain ginger was coming to power, which made @beatricetriptich want to drink bleach. A much more mild-mannered ginger agreed to post a picture of his hair, much to the delight of Esmé's meme is meh. Many of us received 667 starter packs, soufflé revealed herself to be the least pure 667er (or at least of the ones that took this test), and @wollis made us into Pokemon. And finally, Teleram decided he knew soufflé's race better than her.
And now we've made it to December! Reba started it off by posting 28 times in a row. BSam got a new kitten named Kara or Promite or something and Invisible decided to sexualize her? Our new new admin, trip, was presented with a list of requests. And finally, we continued some of the end-of-year traditions, such as the Advent Calendar and mailing cards.
