Good idea for a thread.
I think TAA will be different like how TMM was different.
I think that Prufrock Prep will be clearly a VFD training ground. And I think all the children will discover the initials VFD together. I think there will also be clues hidden around the school and they will need to use both their halves of the spyglass to see the hidden meaning.
Now jumping ahead to TCC I think Madam Lulu will be presented a bit differently because we already see how Olaf find the kids at the beginning of each episode so I think he might be going to here in season 2. (Side note didn't they Build a carnival set for season 1)

It's been on my mind a bit. From what I can remember, the Quagmires and Baudelaires were the only ones living in the Orphan Shack. But I can't help but wonder if the number might be increased for the show. Or, at least, there could be a reference to previous inhabitants. It would be quite interesting to see if any characters we already know lived there. Esme, Hector, Ishmael... I don't know.

The thing I wonder about the Orphan Shack is whether the Baudelaires and Quagmires will all live in it at the same time in the Netflix series - in the books, the Quagmires were allowed to live in the normal dormitories by the time the Baudelaires got to Prufock, but in the Netflix series it looks like the five children are all arriving at Prufock at the same time.

Perhaps the Quagmires will be seen to first and get the dormitories, there'll to no room left for the Baudelaires and they'll have to go in the shack, to meet the Quagmires later on like in the book. I can't remember if Nero gives a reason for them going in the shack in the book or not (does he?), other than because they're orphans.

I can't remember if Nero gives a reason for them going in the shack in the book or not (does he?), other than because they're orphans. Good idea; that would certainly work. In the books Nero says they need a permission slip from a guardian to stay in the dormitories, and the Baudelaires don't really have a guardian, although why the Quagmires were allowed to live in the dormitories anyway after three semesters is unexplained (though Nero isn't exactly the most logical Vice Principal).

Staying in the dormitories requires a permission slip signed by a parent or guardian, and the Baudelaires didn't have either a parent or a guardian (Mr. Poe didn't count, and Nero apparently didn't count himself either), but fortunately the Orphans Shack existed for children in their position. It's never explained how the Quagmires got around this requirement; it would actually make more sense for them to be staying in the Orphans Shack with the Baudelaires.

The amount of detail we got with the Anxious Clown scene and Larry's expanded role has me wondering (and hoping) if we'll see a similar moment with the Prufrock Prep librarian. TUA makes it clear he's a volunteer, and it would be interesting to see him interact with the Baudelaires. If we get a "Well young lady, have you been good to your mother?" moment, I will scream Olaf's Mattathias disguise will be interesting, as its the only time Olaf is totally off-screen in the books (at the end the Baudelaires see his obscured figure in the smoke, so I don't know if that really counts as an appearance). It would be interesting if his disguise is changed in the show to a visible form of some sort. I'm most excited to see where they go with Esme. In this set of books she dons the pinstripe suit, Officer Luciana disguise, the fur coat/surgical assistant disguise, and the "I Love Freaks" outfit. I can't wait to see those interpretations on the screen, and possibly other ridiculous outfits that are new. But as foolish and fashion-obsessed as Esme is, there's a sinister and bloodthirsty side to her that I've always found chilling. The fact that she plots to murder Lulu out of jealousy for Olaf's attention always stood out to me. I hope the Netflix series doesn't shy away from Esme's dark side.

Are we sure they will get to TCC? If it follows the first season it will only go through THH. Plus I feel like the ending of THH is a better way to end a season than the ending of the CC

One thing I hope they do not mess with is the Vile Village, Jacques Snicker stuff. One of the coolest moment so the book series for me was when they revealed Jacque's name as a Snicker. It was a "wow all of this is connected!" type of moment. Of course we already have that in the TV series, but I still think changing the elements of that story would negatively affect the series.

Plus I feel like the ending of THH is a better way to end a season than the ending of the CC Handler said it an interview the next season ends at book 9, so the final season is 10-13. He mentioned there being a natural cliffhanger to the end of it, and in TCC, that's def true.

One thing we can definitely expect from Season 2: In a new interview, Handler's said that he and the production team enjoyed K. Todd Freeman's Mr. Poe so much that they're making him "more prominent in the second season than he is in the corresponding books." I think it's easy to see where that might be relevant from TVV onwards, the beginning of that book being the last time he's seen in the books until the end of TGG.

Ooh, goody! Freeman is hilarious as Mr. Poe, it will definitely be interesting to see where the characters goes.

I'm guessing for THH we'll see his side of the telegram plotline, then for TCC I think we'll see him show up to the carnival in an attempt to find the Baudelaire's but ultimately failing to see through their disguise. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Mrs. Poe more often next season as well.
