I should really have a go at solving the code...
It's that good huh?

It's a wonderful book. There just isn't an enormous amount to say about it, which is a shame; this thread dried up far too quickly.
If you haven't solved the code yet, you may wish not to. That is the request of the creators, much though many of us have ignored it.

I will have some things to comment on when I have a bit more time - e.g. the connection between E and F.

Ok. I’m sad, because I really won’t have an opportunity to buy it until December. It can’t come fast enough!

If anyone is still out shopping - just went in Barnes & Noble and they have TIHOSO 50% as part of their Black Friday deals!

So, I need some opinions on people who have solved the code...
Is it worth solving before or after watching the last episodes, in your opinion? I'm a huge fan of the books, read them all countless times, and I've watched the show and am reading through TIHoSO and trying to solve it but I don't know if I should wait or not. Is it incredibly spoilery? Is there a better place to ask this? Are these the wrong questions?
Thanks!
EDIT: I went ahead and finished decoding it anyway. Can't wait for season three!

I just finished reading this book yesterday, and I enjoyed the last couple pages where different references were explained. However, I was quite disappointed to find out Violet, Klaus, and Sunny are all named after criminals. This information kind of ruins the entire series for me, actually, books and television show alike. Also, the Ike hurricane references doesn't work because that hurricane happened several years after TWW was published. But the other references were very interesting for the most part, and a lot of them I didn't know.
Other than that, I enjoyed all the pictures and explanations about costumes and scenery. There are so many things I never noticed on my own, like only TMM was shot outside, or the pictures of Barry in every episode. And I didn't know Louis Hynes is British and older than Malina Weissman, or that Presley Smith's hair wasn't real in the first season. It was a cool book.

I thought Violet was named after the DA that prosecuted the case. I loved everyone names Violet, Klauss, sunny, Olaf Esme and carmelita. I wonder if the series would have had the same success if handler have used more generic names like Susan, Bob etc?

I wonder if the series would have had the same success if handler have used more generic names like Susan, Bob etc? That is a really interesting point. I think a part of what made the series successful was all the literary and historical references, and that includes the names.
