Violent BUN Fortuna texted 667's Facebook fanpage to let you know, Songbird, that she's on a holiday and can't access to the forum due an internet problem.

Thanks, Esmé's meme is meh! I'm back now and so sorry for the long absence when we were in the middle of this. I thought I would have internet but it simply didn't let me get on to 667! Anyway, I agree with you about Brigit. She's gutsy, funny, and can be surprisingly perceptive. But yeah, she always seemed older than 5 to me; I forgive that simply because she's such a great character. Where are you in the book now?

I'm up to the part where they go through the doorway to find the stones. I was away too last weekend so that's good lol, hope you had a good vacation.

Oh OK that was lucky! Yes thank you, it was great -- I hope your weekend away was good, too.
As for who I think the angler is ... I can't say too much, having read this book before, but I will say that the blond youth Pidge saw running in the distance was no illusion.
What do you think of Patsy and Boodie?

I think they're not what they seem. I found it more than a little coincidental that there is always two animals or two people they run into. I think they are shapeshifters. I think they were the swans.

Well done!! I really hope you enjoyed it! Did you like Cooroo? After Brigit, he's my next favourite character. But there are so many great characters.
Personally I love the way O'Shea managed to blend humour with excitement, tension, and even with some really touching moments. There's a clear love and respect for the natural world evident throughout the book, which is something I really appreciate.
I'm so sorry to have disappeared again; this is going to sound stupid but I unexpectedly lost internet again. Yay. 😐

I think Cooroo was my favorite also, makes me want to get a fox. I like how whimsical the whole book was despite having the danger from the Morrigan in the book. Makes me want to read it to my kids one day.

Yes! My mum read it to me and my brother many times when we were little. Listening to her reading it is one of my favourite childhood memories.

I wish I knew more about Celtic lore/mythology, this book definitely inspired me to research.

Yeah, I've been meaning for ages to learn more about all sorts of mythologies: Celtic, Greek, Norse, etc. I find them fascinating but I don't know nearly enough about them.
