I agree, the sword quiver is A+. Something similar was recommended as a good exercise for animation when I did a 3-week internship at an animation studio as a teen (the original exercise was a blade of sea-grass swaying under water; another exercise was the classic bouncing ball).

True, I hadn't even noticed that -- which is a compliment in itself, because it means the animation appears natural enough that one hardly sees all the work that must have gone into it.

I think the cane is too far in front of the old man, he'd probably have very little leverage for it to aid him in his walk. Optimally the cane would be right next to (or at least much closer to) the right/limp leg when he puts the left/good leg forward. Just a little observation when I compared it to some "cane walk animation" videos on YouTube, as well as Pixar's "Gerry's Game" (in the latter he uses a tabletop for leverage, but concept's the same).
