File Under: 13 Suspicious Incidents is the only volume in ATWQ which Egmont has never brought to the U.K. - though they have expressed admiration for the cover art and even appear to have produced a homage the following year to promote a separate title. So, what more logical next move than to finally release the book here, four years after its original publication, as a Kindle-exclusive with a completely new cover which has nothing in common with the original? The Kindle edition will be released on June 28th, and can be found on Amazon here, or previewed via Google Books here.

If only that were a physical version I would absolutely buy another copy of File Under, just because it's so beautiful (if completely out of keeping with the rest of ATWQ). Ah well, maybe one day.

That is a nice cover, but I don't think it fits ATWQ very well. It feels much more ASOUE to me.

That is a nice cover, but I don't think it fits ATWQ very well. It feels much more ASOUE to me. I'm guessing that was very much the intention given that the cover doesn't even list it as part of the ATWQ series and instead prominently displays "Lemony Snicket" and "A Series of Unfortunate Events".

Oh, right. That last thing probably should've been a clue.

Remember that FU13 can actually be used as an introduction to ATWQ - it actually ends with the first chapter. So the plan is presumably to market this to ASOUE fans and then use it to make them aware of the new series.

I do think it's fairly disingenuous to promote it almost as a work in A Series of Unfortunate Events. It does work as a standalone book and I have lent it to one of my friends who was familiar with ASOUE but not ATWQ. But I think the marketing is misleading and moreover the "A Series of Unfortunate Events" stamp is just a tacky thing stuck on just for branding purposes.
The rest of the cover is lovely but I agree that it seems more ASOUE-style and not quite what I would expect of an ATWQ supplementary material.
