Look Away Lyrics Season 3:
The Slippery Slope The Baudelaires are trapped in mountains covered up in snow. More villains have arrived and there is no place they can go. It’s a horrid way to start up this, our third and final season. Anyone still watching it has clearly lost all reason.
The Grim Grotto The Baudelaires are deep below the surface of the sea. Hoping to avoid Count Olaf’s horrid company. But of course, he finds them and of course, it’s very awful. This show’s so grim it really ought to be unlawful.
The Penultimate Peril The Baudelaires check into a hotel to spy upon, A group of awful people for whom murder is a yawn. It may seem like Count Olaf will be finally brought to justice. But why would any viewers think that they could really trust us?
The End The Baudelaires, adrift at sea, wash up far off the map. Olaf’s right behind them with a fungus and a trap. Our story ends in tragedy upon a coastal shelf. I beg of you, I beg of you, stop watching, save yourself.

Guys, TIHOSO has so much new content for season 3, it's nuts. Some quick things I noticed after a speed read: The Gregorian Grotto now contains a "sinister" lab. They confirm that they have combined Captain Widdershins and Fiona into one character. The End WILL contain content from the Beatrice Letters and still ends with "The Great Unknown". They hint that Fernald was working under Gregor Anwhistle on a secretive project. TPP will have flashbacks to 'that' night at the opera and Olaf, Esmé and were there [amonsgt others]. The End is apparently a "very quiet, character-driven piece that meditates on the themes of the story" and like a "dreamy hallucination". It will also be very "stripped of comedy". Because the Dewey Decimal System is a protected trademark, the Netflix adaptation of TPP has to use "library catalogue" instead.

They probably axed Captain Widdershins cause he says "aye" too much, and wanted to keep a love interest for Klaus? I'm sad though. I was introduced to him by listening to the Tim Curry audiobook (cause I was still super young when it came out and my dad accidentally ordered that instead of the book) and his delivery was great.

Our story ends in tragedy upon a coastal shelf. I beg of you, I beg of you, stop watching, save yourself. I like these, and I'm looking forward to hearing them sung by NPH. The 'justice/trust us' rhyme is fittingly far-fetched. I still honestly think my versions (which I'll just shamelessly mention, in case anyone forgot them) matched the number of syllables better, though - out of these four, it's only in TE that I really think the last line matches the melody. But maybe that's just a part of the joke that depends on delivery - some of the previous ones did that, after all. I also notice that both my version and the official one rhymes 'shelf' with 'yourself', but in different verses - but I have to admit theirs is much more elegant. TPP was definitely the hardest for me, and I think this version is great, all things considered. The design of the island in that concept art is one of those things I really feel I should've seen coming.

He was an important character! And I was looking forward to the “he who hesitates is lost” “or she!” And yay! I’m looking forward to seeing the Beatrice letters and the great unknown! And The End will be serious then? That’s good I guess we need a serious episode at least once. And Fernald is working on a secret project? Okay cool I guess and library catalogue? Okay then.

Eh, I'm not too bothered by Captain Widdershins being cut out of the story. If we're being totally honest it's not like his storyline actually went anywhere in the books, he's only ever around for less than half of TGG and then he literally never appears again.
Given the amount of story the show has to wrap up, it makes sense to cut out elements from the books in order to not make the story's more important elements feel rushed. Especially since Daniel Handler himself never brought Widdershins back in TPP or TE.
His only real impact on the overall story anyway, is that he introduces the children to Fiona, and then disappears mysteriously. Which according to the Fiona audition tapes, he still does, it just occurs before TGG episodes.

I assume the portrait in the Queequeg is of Widdershins then.

Plus, Fiona will still keep his funny attitude screaming “aye!” and the moto “he or she who hesitates is lost”.
Actually, it’s a good reading of the Grim Grotto. It was really about Fiona, more than Widdershins.

I assume the portrait in the Queequeg is of Widdershins then. Most likely, as in TIHOSO, there's another image of Barry Sonnenfeld as Captain Widdershins with a young Fiona and Fernald.

^ smh, Widdershins was worth it for his mustache alone. And @comet there is an accent in which that rhyme works fairly well..... California/standard American. Plus Neil'll sell it, I'm not too worried.

I believe I may have solved the code in TIHOSO. TWO SETS OF FRIENDS JUST OUT OF REACH WILL MEET AGAIN ON BRINY BEACH

I’m so torn on if I should solve it or not (or click on the spoiler text). I’ve read every book multiple times and I’m obsessed with the show, but Joe Tracz said he recommends not solving it until Season 3. My question is for anyone who does know it, without saying what it is, what kind of spoiler is it?
Edit: To clarify I see the question, but is it something I might know already or something I really shouldn’t figure out?
