Wow, after all these years I just realized my last post didn't look right. When I said I tend to be on the good side of the schism, I didn't mean to insinuate that Lemony Snicket was not. I just meant that since I'm on the side of good, I'm not going to take credit for Snicket and pretend to be him as that would be wrong. And it would sound like something Olaf would do. :-)

Oooooh I like that idea! Even if it's not the case. The possibility of the GU being the BB is definitely intriguing.

I know it's been another three years since the last post, but Hermes I just saw the post you wrote much earlier on your idea on who the bellboy and girl were, if they weren't the Snow Scouts. Who do you think they were?

Hmmmm, well I definitely respect everyone's views on the matter, and I do enjoy reading others opinions on it. I guess the reason why I was hoping that it wouldn't be the case with Moxie is because I'm really sick and tired of the ridiculous stereotype in film/books/television shows of girls and women not liking each other when a boy or man gets involved. The whole "women being jealous of each other and competing with each other for some guy" that is unfortunately so prevalent in the media. Of course anyone who knows better knows that all of those stereotypes are stupid and completely untrue. And that's why I was kind of disappointed if Daniel Handler went in that direction, since he's always been kind of an awesome feminist when it comes to writing female characters.
However, I guess it makes up for the fact that at least Moxie became good friends with other female characters, like Cleo and Ornette. The three of them truly became the best of pals through their shared adventures, and that is a truly great thing. So I'm glad that Handler at least did that.

I understand that all of the characters except for Lemony had issues with trusting her because of the suspicious things and possibly villainous things that she's done. But Moxie especially seemed to really hate her, and every time Lemony brought Ellington up, Moxie was the only one to be annoyed with him mentioning her. But why? Lemony was one of the only people to be mature enough to realize that she wasn't that bad, and she was only doing these things to help find her father, and when she found out Hangfire was her dad, she was just as surprised as everyone else. And yet, everyone still had bad feelings for her, especially Moxie.
And I highly doubt that it had anything to do with Moxie having romantic feelings for Lemony, since she still calls him by his last name and didn't seem all that interested when he left at the end, she just waved at him and went back to finishing typing her paper. So what truly was her distaste for her? Again, it seemed unusually stronger than the others.

Thanks everyone. And Bear, there is nothing wrong with asking a question. Sometimes things that don't appear on the internet doesn't mean they don't exist. That has happened plenty of times. Seriously just let people ask questions without judging them, either give an answer or don't say anything at all. Simple as that.

For your information I have tried looking it up, but to no success. That's why I'm on here asking if any of those actually exist. There is no need to be so rude about it. Did this thread bother you that much that you needed to make that comment? Good grief

I've always been a HUGE fan of the theater and different shows, plays or musicals it doesn't matter. And I'm from the U.S. so I know that the biggest theater community we have here is Broadway in New York City. I know that the British equivalent would be West End in London. And I believe the Canadian one is the Toronto Theatre District in Ontario. But what is the Australian version? And the New Zealand version? If there is one for them. I'm just curious that's all. Thanks

Oh sorry. Since the fourth book doesn't get released in my area until the 29th, I don't know much about the fourth book. And honestly I wasn't aware that other people had already read the fourth book yet, so this thread was mostly started for speculation and theories only.

Sorry but for each of the books in the series I've only read them all once so far. So my memory with certain plot-points in the books might be a little bit hazy. But what happened to Sally Murphy ("Murphy Sallis") at the end of the first book? How are Cleo Knights parents, and Zora and Zada up to now, now that Dr. Flammarion has supposedly been arrested with Nurse Dander? And speaking of Flammarion and Dander, were they really arrested? Or will we perhaps see them again in the up coming last book?

Oh that's a really good point. I can't believe I almost forgot about the brothers not eating in days and hiding from the Department of Truancy. I had a feeling something was going on.

I really like the Sunny theory. Especially when another poster pointed out that Bertrand (possibly Baudelaire) was apparently her favorite apprentice. :-)
