I think the reverse, we contact him first, and then make the offer. Explain our goals and see if he's willing to sell in the first place. Because if he's not, it doesn't matter how much money we offer, and if he is. We'll see if the 700 is enough.

I actually knew who had these for quite some time. Had no idea he was open to sell via Heritage though and it honestly surprises me that he's open to that. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to sick people on him. Lol. I'm a bit skeptical if we reach out to him that he will be receptive to our plan, my worry would be that he would see our avid interest and the price would skyrocket or he would shut it down completely because he wouldn't want the scripts to lose value. He comes across as an avid collector. Has a lot of memorabilia from a lot of different things. Some people are open to what we're interested in, some want to keep this stuff in private hands to keep the value up. Hard to say honestly. I've known too and actually contacted him, he seemed responsive at first and even offered to scan some pages for free, but then he never got back in touch.

Yes, that's a good point. We should at least contact him though, right?
Cause with this system it's just bidding in the dark.
Ours was the first and only offer made to him so nobody's champing at the bit, if we tell him how much we have. Then we would at least get an idea if he's willing to sell at all cause the site just does that kind of listing automatically.

We could do that, but then there is the possibility that telling him what we are trying to do will make him raise his price to an inordinate amount of money. Yes, that's why I was thinking we could simply send a message from the official account asking if he'd let us scan them for free, and if he refuses, only then offer him money.

Through some detective work I found the twitter account of the purchaser. Why don't we just ask him directly on there what his price is. (if he wants to sell)
Maybe one of us can send a message from the 667 Twitter account.
Since he's a collector it may be tough to buy from him but perhaps we could offer him some kind of deal where if we can't outright buy them, we get lent them for however it takes to scan them and then return the physical copies to him.

Why have donations been paused? I was actually planning on donating some more tonight.

Not voting because I think we can raise even more money for this. Honestly, let's worry about spending money on scanning the scripts once we actually have them.
I say we extend the gofundme, because I know for sure more money will come in.

I can cover the cost of digitizing if necessary as I know people with equipment.

Another great aspect about these scripts is that they have handwritten notes in them from Scott Rudin and Barry Sonnfenfeld, which should offer an even better look at their initial plans.

This is so amazing. I am more than happy to contribute whatever funds I can towards this endeavour. I have no money on me right now, but give me a day and I can pool some.

Hermes meant the world to me as a young member, perhaps the first person on here who truly took me under their wing and always had a kind word. I shall miss him terribly.
I will be forever happy that we were able to talk with each other on Zoom several times.
May his memory be a blessing.

I've been catching up on a lot of work after my hospital stay but I noticed this while browsing online and thought I'd post it here. The 2004 film is finally getting a bluray release in Brazil (December 22nd) and it has not one, but four different covers for people to choose from. Two of them were only used on DVDs before and one has never been used a cover for any of the movie's previous home video releases.
