I've changed my name dozens of times, so I've had people call me LOADS of things. Please call my Robert. Only Robert! Not Pika, Mister Pika, Jirachi, Insanity, Doctor Insanity, Luigi, Mario..... ONLY ROBERT!!!
Sorry if this was sort of spam, but I want people to get it straight.

Well... you do have to tell people. If you don't want people to call you Insanity, keep your name as Robert. People who don't know you don't automatically know your name, and can't automatically be expected to call you by it. That's just not fair. If someone's replying to something you said, they'll probably just check the name and call you by it. Therefore... if you don't want to be called something, don't use it as your name... I didn't think that was a huge concept, buuuuuuut.... Anyway, it's a small thing. If people in real life called me Neggie I'd be weirded out. But this isn't offline, and you can't expect everyone to know your name if you don't post it.

Alison. People get Alli (Soufflé) and me confused so I just don't mention it. It's easier. Maybe I should make up a name and tell people it's my name. I need a cool name. What did Anne of Green Gables call herself? Cordelia? something like that. *shrug*
