TGG: UK. But only because it shows the Queequeg. It does? EDIT: I just looked it up, cool.

Definitely TEE. I don't know why, but it's my favorite.

I think that TGG has the best cover so far!

Book 12's cover is hawt.
EDIT: I personally prefer the US covers, probably because I'm patriotic, but it's also because I just like the way the whole cover is set up, and I don't think that the UK covers have that in the same way. I like how it can go: OK, you've got the Bauds here, the house burning down here, the illustration here, the color on the binding, the banner here, the number of the book here, etc., etc. I just find it comforting.

I think US THH was the best, as it is unnerving to see Klaus with a knife, and once you read the book it becomes an even more unnerving picture...TMM(US) and bk the 12ths cover are also quite awesome

I like how it can go: OK, you've got the Bauds here, the house burning down here, the illustration here, the color on the binding, the banner here, the number of the book here, etc., etc. I just find it comforting. Yeah, I agree. I prefer the layout of the U.S. covers, and the burning mansion is pretty cool. Not to stay off the topic but, isn't that Baud mansion, the same as the one in the UA (with the last chapter), and the one Fernald hooked on the movie because of the Klaus encounter?
Now here's my comparisons (though I commented to much because we Filipinos only get the US ones, so had to browse for the UKs) Generally, the US layout looks more... authentic-looking; original; unique in its own way. Although the UK ones are unique in their own way too, do not read if you're a UK cover fanI find it cheap looking, like fakes, though some of UK covers' pictures are better than the US. In that way, the UK covers made up for the layout lousiness. TBB: US wins. But I do not like the way Olaf's fingers are positioned. looks more like branches. UK's is much more vibrant, in terms of color. TRR: US again because they are all shown in clear expressions. I think the UK one is waaay too vibrant, though the IDV is indeed more striking, even the spine! TWW: Neither. But I would like the window, with the spectacular view of Lake Lachrymose, together with bits of grammar books, cozy chairs, bits of characters' heads, and Hurricane Herman. TMM: Both good, yet I agree with Dante about Orwell appearing, and with another said that Violet is drawn lousy. TAA: Also both outstanding. (UK) Carmelita looks good, but I don't like her hogging all the space. Non ASOUE readers might think its a story about Carmelita. (US) I like the Nero thing but he has big hips, don't you think. TEE: UK wins, with Sunny's mouth wide agape. US cover looks like angry Violet is going to riot her underground elevator neighbour. Hip problem again. TVV: US wins, though a better one is the topview from the SSHAMH looking way down to the ladder, Bauds, Olaf, Esme, and crowd along with a bunch of crows. THH: Looks good either way. UK cover seems slightly inaccurate though. TCC: US is the best ever! But I would very much prefer having Helquist draw more of the lion's face, than its biceps. TSS: UK wins by the poncho. TGG: I dont care about them. It'd be better off with the Bauds and Fiona, in the conical cavern. TNN: There is no UK version. It is a website.

i think TCC i love it although it is a bit uplifting for the series I don't understand why everyone likes that one. it sucks. the bauds aren't on it (well above the knees) it just sucks. I COMPLETELY agree. I kinda hate the TCC cover. Lions= boring. In fact, it's so bad that it's almost as terrible as TMM. And we all know how god-awful that cover was (the book was too).

Klaus looks really strange, and not in a very good way, on the TMM cover. Covers with someone's head filling the whole frame tend to look odd.
The lions on the TCC cover are pretty cool, though. But I would have liked it better if we saw more of the Baudelaires; perhaps if we were looking over their shoulders into the lion pit.

That would have been better. I didn;t like the inside drawing of the Bauds as freaks on the Ex Libris page. They look awkward (I mean more awkward than usual, of course they look awkwrad, they're dressed as Carnies!). I didn't like TMM's cover either, but I think the story's pretty good. TCC was not my fave; the freak thing I can handle, although it has deep, unpleasent, sentimental meaning to me, but animal abuse is going a little too far. (I.E., the lions getting whipped, although it is breif.) Otherwise, it was fine. Olaf was kinda goofy, tho. ("I'm unfolding the second fold of the paper!")

Klaus looks really strange, and not in a very good way, on the TMM cover. Klaus looks girly, because of the lips. I would rather see Shirley sitting in the Receptionist desk, peering over the Baudelaire sisters. Shirley was quite vague in appearance in the Ex Libris page. Also, the cover needs a better view of the Finite Forest.
I wonder why I always quote you.
The whole face-covering-cover-of-book? Does that apply to TEE, where Violet's,um, Dress is almost covering the cover too. The Lion's also cover most of the cover. I think its good 'cause of the bright blue spine.

TGG, definitely. It was one of my least favorite books, but, for some reason, I loved the cover. It was all cool and aquatic-ie.
TCC is my second favorite cover. Those lions are awesome.

none, i like the penultimate peril best, plus, i like the title because it doesn't give away the story, just the number of books

because it doesn't give away the story, just the number of books neither does TBB TRR TWW TMM TAA TVV THH TCC TSS or TGG. TEE, yes but none of the other titles.

Definitely the Grim Grotto. That cover made me want to read it! It is hinting at the dark secrets inside...
