I was just wondering if anyone has EVER made any correct theories about ASOUE? I mean, Lemony is so random, and incredibly crafty, that everything we seem to guess is completely wrong. Anyone else have this feeling? Or am I just stupid? I mean, the only thing I know that we correctly guessed was that back when TSS was first published, we all thought that they would go on a submarine (well, I did) Sooo... any thoughts?

I was right about some theories being wrong. Does that count?

I don't think I've made a correct prediction. However, I predicted that Phil would appear in TSS, and turned out to be right about the character and wrong about the book. Also, I've long disbelieved the recently disproved K Baudelaire theory, so I guess that counts for something.

I realise this is hard, cos Lemony doesn't release a lot of information, but still. Also, thinking theories are INCORRECT is not really that... good I mean, I could claim that Klaus ISN'T the baudelaire mom and I would be right (I think) so.. meh Though, I suppose, for main theories, like the K is baudmom theories, that might work BTW I was against that theory and I still believe Beatrice is the mom

I predicted that Carmelita would show up in the 10th book. And I have managed to see all the clues in the pictures since book six.

They're just theories. Don't EXPECT them to be correct. The makers don't.

It's just fun you feel a bit sidekick if your correct.

I have to be honest that I didn't make any correct theorie apart from Quigly coming back in TSS but even that was aided by 667 members

I thought Quigley would return in TSS, and I thought the Quagmires WOULDN'T return in TGG, so *shrug*

I thought the Quagmires would return in TSS, but I turned out to be only one-third right. Or possibly completely wrong, since I don't remember speculating about Quigley. I'd have to find my old posts on another message board to know for sure what my theories were at that time.

Oh wait! I think I thought that they'd end up on Briny Beach at the end of the Grim Grotto, and that actually happened.

I got one right! Right before TGG came out, I re-read the entire series. During TRR I came up with this theory: The Reptile Room: Page 3: “The Grim River and the horseradish factory were only the first of a sequence of tragic and unpleasant episodes that bring a frown to my face and a tear to my eye whenever I think about them.” I believe this might be the most important note in this series. As the Baudelaire’s have already had several unpleasant events in the previous book, I believe that this sentence means more. I am one who believes that The Grim River houses the Grotto, and the horseradish factory never really came into play in TRR, so I believe that both have a greater purpose. Perhaps the factory comes into play in TGG, if they indeed come into the Grim River. . It came true, yesh it did. The complete thread is available in The Trouble Begins.
