I'll have to say Monty's house. Reptiles fascinate me in general, and I wouldn't mind working with Monty. He's a pleasant guy. And the Baudelaires seemed to really love living there (at least, before "Stephano" came in).

Absolutely Uncle Monty's. It doesn't get much better than that.

Yeah, but the Uncle Monty's house was pretty but as for me Caligari Carnival is more interesting and mysterious. And this is place where Baudelaires a lot of characters I love.

For me I quite like Aunt Josephine's house. I think like all holiday bungalows near the coastline, if you stay there when the weather is appalling then you really don't enjoy much, however I think it would be a beautiful snug little home on a summer's afternoon/evening.

Well the threads already been bumped so...... I think my favourite place would have to be the ruined site of the VFD headquarters in the Mortmain mountains. From Snicket's brief description of the place before it burnt down, I think it sounds like a wonderful place to be.

It looks like I haven't posted yet, but I could've sworn I did. Oh well. Definitely NOT 667 Dark Avenue. I'm very allergic to salmon. Monty's house sounds cool as long as no dangerous animals get loose accidentally. I love frogs, turtles and toads. Not so much snakes, though. I think my first choice would be Hotel Denouement. I love hotels... and the Denouement triplets. And if I was allowed to I would love to read the underwater catalog.

The island where everything would eventually wash up. I loved that it was so isolated from the rest of the world, but at the same time so connected to the lives of... everyone.
To sit in the hollow of a tree, by a fireplace and in safety and read forever about the lives of one's lost parents that one did not know; I feel that there is peace there, eventual as it may be.

Well, nope to Olaf's house.
Uncle Monty's place always was a warm, safe, and beautiful place full of mysterious creatures and fascinating secrets to discover. I'm not sure if it's my favorite, but it certainly would be a wonderful treat staying there, especially with someone who knows their stuff! (Like Monty.)
Aunt Josephine's house always seemed like a cozy place to be, however something should be done about the boards holding the place up. But I can just picture a warm summer night, looking out through the wide window as the sun sets far over the lake... Seems rather homey and peaceful to me. But not safe what so ever, as we clearly know.
The Lucky Smells Lumber Mill sounds dreadful, and everything about it was dreadful.
Prufrock Preparatory School seemed horrible as well, and while the thought of tombstone shaped buildings does sound forbidding and treacherous, I never thought of it as at all exciting... Just a school.
667 Dark Avenue always enticed me, as the idea of getting lost in ones own house seems like it would be a lot of fun to me! But the fact it's controlled by a crazy woman is a big turn off, as is all the fuss about what's in and out. I would love to visit some time when only Jerome is there though!
The Village of Fowl Devotees was also just that... A village of old people who were boring, strict, and liked crows. Then there was Hector, and his lovable barn house by Nevermore Tree. I love thinking about his house a lot, and I'd have to say his house, coupled with his hot air mobile home, has got to be a favorite. Something so pleasant about all of that to me.
The Hostile Hospital was sad, I always thought it was one of their lowest points to sleep in the unfinished building. But the library of records sounds enticing to me, all the secrets it could contain...
Caligari Carnival also seems fun and exciting, and I really do like carnivals and such. But frankly, all we're told of is Madam Lulu's tent, the guest caravan, the lions pit, and the broken down roller coaster... That's all. Sounds pretty lame to me, really.
The Mortmain Mountains VFD headquarters sounds like it was a beautiful place with a grand view of the Striken Stream, but alas we'll never really know because it's gone. If we ever got to see it, that would probably be a close runner up as well.
The Queegueg and it's strange crew has always interested me, however I'm somewhat frightened of deep sea so maybe not the best place for me. But I like the idea of it and would certainly love to go in a submarine sometime, especially one captained by Widdershins!
The Hotel Denouement would also be a wonderful place to go, but I'm more interested in the underwater part than the above ground part to be honest...
The island, however, seems like the ultimate sanctuary that they've been needing since the beginning. The Baudelaire orphans never got a chance to quietly think to themselves about everything that's happened to them, I feel. The island provided that to them, along with so much more; answers to questions they may of had about their parents, leadership and responsibility for baby Beatrice, etc.
That's my little review. All in all, it's a tie between Hector's house/s and the island. Both of them have always seemed like the perfect places the kids should of ended up in, and it's where I'd want to be too.

Prufrock Prep. is no Hogwarts, that's for sure, but I think it was probably fairly cushy for anyone who wasn't an orphan - especially if you look at it purely as a building, rather than taking into account the tiresome rules and teaching.

I agree, I'm sure that for students who weren't orphans the school was rather luxurious. So I guess for me it wouldn't be too bad. But any school that specifically has an orphans shack seems a bit sketchy... The whole school always seemed very sketchy to me, at least. And what gives them the right to treat orphans so much worse than people who's parents didn't die?

Uncle monty's house would be a nice place to live even if if uncle monty can be foolish at times(it makes him even more interesting) The island sounded like a great place to stay after the castaways left. There are also many secrets hidden in the washed up things. But sooner or later, something dangerous would end up on its shores.
