For school I have to do this debate thing, and the topic is Would Steve Irwin make a good Australian Ambassador?
I've got a fair few rebuttals and points, but I still need more (after all, it's a 6 min speech!). What do you guys think?

Why? Because of all the heat from the crocodile and baby thing.
I do believe that the kid was safe but doing it in front of all those people was a BAD idea and made alot of people think he was an unfit parent and a jackass. The ambassador should be somebody that people don't think is a jackass.

Why he would be a good ambasdsador: More awareness towrds animals and endangered species.
Why not: He's a loony, he would'nt be taken seriously, and he's not exactly smart. Would you like YOUR country run by a man who dangled his baby in front of a crocodile? NO!

Well, explain, at least. Why are you pro-Steve?
I don't care either way... I doubt he'll get to be the ambassador, so it's not an issue. He's just some guy from TV... *shrug*

Well...a lot of people (myself included) approve of what he's done to raise animal awareness and promote conservation. He'd do a lot to protect the natural world, which is something that's needed badly...
Plus, he's well known...Ask any random person if they know who Steve is, and most people will say they do. That might not be entirely in his favor, though...what with the infamous baby-dangling incident. But I do believe he knows the difference between something that's insanely stupid and dangerous and something that's...well....not. *shrug*

I did the speech the other day, it went all right. The opposing team were a bunch of idiots though, one of them started raving on about catching kangaroos because they were more common, and then he started going on about steve playing golf, he didn't make sense half the time. We were just passing notes during his speech saying what an idiot he was.
Oh yeah, we won!!!

So, Steve dangles his kid in front of a gator and Michael dangles his off a balcony. Is that all it takes to be internationally known?
