Silver Jews - Buckingham Rabbit Been listening to the 'American Water' album again after having discovered this gem some two months ago. I think singer-songwriter David Berman has become a current favourite poet of mine. R. i. p. David Berman Lit a candle in his memory.

Poe's Coats Host Toast u a fan of Thin White Rope? i've been obsessed with their album MOONHEAD lately. gotta be one of the best 80s rock bands. crazy guitar action wit the double leads, the interplay of the clean/intricate and the heavy/gritty. also lovely poetic lyrics, apparently sung while being strangled by barbed wire...

Hey, sorry to have left you hanging Reba. I listened to the album today, and I really liked it! My kinda sound when it comes to the 80s... somewhat goth-y; some melodies that are sweet, some down and dirty; and pretty original guitar work... My fav's are the opening track; "Mother" with its sinister yet dancable bassline; "Come Around" (great guitar riff and cool lyrics)... and the epic-sounding "Take it Home". Another somewhat similar-sounding, very cool record I've been pumping some two months ago was " Modern Romans" by The Call--afaik a pretty unknown 80s band... got it on recommendation from a buddy who bought it on impulse at a vinyl sale. Listening to "Turn a Blind Eye" from that rn.

RIP Andy Gill from Gang of Four - one of my favorite guitarists.

I’ve been listening to George Michael and Wham! a lot lately. I’ve always loved them.

just watched "Music + Lyrics" a hilarious and sweet romcom where Hugh Grant plays a washed-up 80s pop star who was in a group loosely based on Wham. recommended for all fans of Hugh Grant and romcoms and Hugh Grant romcoms. oops, this is the music thread. i've been listening to a lot of The Beatles lately because i live in the UK now and i'm soon to visit Liverpool. i'll mostly be seeing family but i hope to pop by a few Beatles monuments as well.

lol I once watched that on an airplane (or was it a bus? I don't remember) where I didn't have a choice. The only good thing about the movie was the music video parody in the beginning.
Nice, bear, hope you have a good time in Liverpool. There's a Beatles museum there, but it's really pricey (so I've never been there). There's also a bronze statue of the four guys near the museum, and of course there's still the Cavern club (where the B's played almost 300 times), which is def worth a visit.

Charli xcx’s new album is absolutely flawless, probably the first album that I’ve genuinely thought “10/10” on first listen, since Yeezus?

Discovered The Garden these past two weeks, after having only seen that one video they did with Maccie DeMarco last year. They're pretty gnarly as far as silly, neo-New Wave fun goes.
