I'm not saying that there should be 13 seasons to drag out every story. I am!

What do we mean by a season? In the UK a season is typically thirteen episodes, appropriately enough, though some are famously shorter than that. But I believe US seasons are generally longer.

Sometimes shows in the US have a "pilot season", which is much shorter than the usual 24, and then they end up getting longer if the show is popular. Parks and Recreation, Adventure Time(?) and Teen Wolf(?) I think all did this.

Parks and Rec did, the other two didn't.

If there were to be a long-running ASOUE TV show, I was thinking it would be more appropriate for it to have the British format of fewer episodes per series - I'm thinking either four or thirteen, to keep in line with the source material, and also because it's too story-driven to support a status quo-based show. Having a 24-episode-a-series-show without a reasonably detailed status quo would be too much trouble, I think.

Those episodes usually are 60 minutes. A book for 1-2 episodes will do.

And what I ask is the exact significance of this highlighted passage on Daniel Handler's agent's website?

Well, it was only a matter of time before that happened.

Fascinating! We can only hope that something comes of this project.
Edit: Worth a new thread, if you'd care to make one, tuesday.
Edit Again: Using the Internet Archive, I've determined that this detail was added between mid-July and mid-August.

That would make a great deal of sense. I think the movie sequel ship has sailed.
