For instance she:
Never spoke of her feelings as much
More depressed
More afraid
Seemed more...I don't know...not sadistic...but not as happy-go-lucky either
Am I missing any??? *needs help*

I can't think of anymore, thistledown, although I'm sure there are more.

There are a few Violaf fanfics that support the 'abused' theory. I personally think yes, she was abused, but it could have been with or without her knowledge. When she was unconscious, maybe...you get what I mean, don't you? But if it was with her knowledge, it fits in nicely with the 'Violet was not the same after THH' theory.Without her knowledge, I can't imagine.

I think the cabinet fell on her legs. I think that, me too. Poor Violet...

I wrote an alternate ending to one of my stories about that theory. You should go read it.Yeah, I think it could have happened either way, but I like to think she was conscious. As Zavi says, Violet's too pretty to not have people's hands all over her.

I know it's a fairly mature topic, but try to keep it clean, please. Children read these books.

This is an interesting topic, and one that me and my friend were having once after I made him read the series. His argument was that the WFW would never stand for something like that, the same way they wouldn't stand for throwing Sunny off the mountain. I say that that makes sense, but maybe that's why they were mysteriously absent, because thay walked away in disgust. Thoughts?

Hmm. . .it's possible, Dapper. I personally don't think Violet was abused, and that Fernald (the hook-handed man) always called her a "sleeping beauty" and stuff like that just because he liked her.

I think she was a little bit emo after THH, definitely. Which always struck me as odd. Who knows what happened to her--but THH is the book that sparked in me a love of Violaf...*sigh* Violaf fics have a certain...je ne sais quoi...

And by "abused", does everyone mean the R-word? It makes sense that she was molested, but I don't think she was uh... penetrated otherwise.

White-Faced Women, I think. Although one might also address them as "powder-faced." That said, in different language editions, V.F.D. uses different letters; for example, the French is V.D.C. (and the insignia's better off for it).

Yes, the white-faced women is who I was talking about.

I agree that the WFW wouldn't care less if the men on the troupe wanted to have their way with Violet.
I've been thinking about this theory lately and I think that, since there are several references to sexual themes throughout the series, it is definitely plausible that Violet was assaulted during THH.
For the record, I'm going through serious aSoUE withdrawl...I need more Snicket....
