That really annoys me....when people just see the movies and think that they know everything.

Yes...There'll be all these stupid people who thinks they know it all and say nonsense on these very boards. When,in reality, wethe real fans are the ones who deserve to be upon these boards. ;D :)And they should really get Tim Burton to direct the movie...Instead of Nickelodeon.

i think it's stupid mixing American (Jim Carrey) with English, more importantly Brummie (Timothy Spall...)
and cross/movie fans will get confused cuz Tim Spall will be playing: Mr. Poe AND Peter Pettigrew (PoA) *sighs*

ooh, i thought of another thing i forgot to post...
What the heck is the point of merging THREE books? We'll lose vital info! and why isn't Daniel H. playing Lemony Snicket?

because they have a totally different style i think...look at an American soap like er...Dallas? and look at an English soap like: Coronation Street...both styles are totallydifferent...not saying they're bad actors/actresses but it'll seem weird...
speshly since I don't think the books are set in either America or England...and u don't just get immigrants know what i mean? Half Enlish ppl and half american ppl....

i think it's stupid mixing American with English ABSOLUTELY! Didn't you hate it when the nearly completely American cast of rebels in Star Wars went agains the Empire and they were almost all British. How dare they! Bloody hell.

Yeah, I was the one who said that about how they were gonna get the baby to speak nonsense. It is just impossible. That is all there is too it. Unless they make like a one or two year old play her, and that wouldn't even be accurate. Because she is an infant, not a toddler. and I happen to like one nickelodeon movie. Good Burger!!

I can understand that y'all are trying to minimize your possible dissapointment with the movie, but calm down. You've not seen one still from the film yet and you're already jumping to conclusions- you have no idea how involved (or univolved)Nickelodeon is with the direction of the film. You have no idea what the sets, actors, or costumes look like. You have not read the script.
Try to keep an open mind. You might be surprised.

Hey, I think it will be a good movie.
Just, Nickelodeon doesn't tend to make serious movies...

First of all, new here ;D Secondly, many of you bashing Nickelodeon like it's fluffy and pansy must have only started watching it from five years ago onward because the twisted world of Nick's ideas is often anything but bubbly (unless you count their love for slime and farts). Nick was once a very cool network, until it became all 'tween' dominated and Arron Carter came along Besides that, Paramount makes their movies, and if anyone should be blamed for the quality of Nick's movies, it's them.
Regardless of how negative that little mini-rant of mine sounded, I do agree that Nick probably wasn't the best company to produce ASOUE. I also agree that it's hard to see how the series can be made into a movie at all. But yes, I believe if Tim Burton were put in charge things would be a bit brighter, or should I say, darker, for the making of this movie. Espcially if it were made in claymation like The Nightmare Before Christmas.
And I also agree that the series is Nation-less... America, England, Mars, who knows? It's a world of the Author's own creation... you rarely find places with so many alliterations scattered about ;D so actors of any nationality should be welcome to join in.
I'm having a hard time swallowing the idea that Jim Carey is playing Olaf... it clashes with the image Brian Helquist creates... but maybe that's just me.
Anyhow, sorry to be so long-winded. Bai for now!

Yes, Caranwing. I love you! not really, just that you said my point better than I could. Jim Carrey is so much different than the picture I had in my head of Count Olaf. For one, he isn't ugly enough. Count Olaf is supposed to be hideous! And Carenwing! Welcome to Dark Avenue!
