Okay, yeah. I just meant, like some way for people like Lucas to catch up on things. The 667er has it's place, and that is as a half news/ half articley writey funny thing. I think Ellie's suggestion is far better thought out than mine ever was, and makes more sense. lucas anytime in the next couple of weeks'd be good. I'll send out a brief in a couple of days. I haven't really put much thought into what the next edition will have yet. Don't fret just yet. Hermes, I just mean like if the forum were ever to die, only to be revived a year later, people would understand the running jokes, or alternatively, if someone left for years and then came back, their memories of their time here would be preserved.

Um, how do I save my messages, because I've been trying the thing that's meant to back them up, but it only worked once, and now it just makes an empty zip file with a proboards ad. Sorry for any trouble

If you're following the instructions and it's not working, then I'm not sure how to help you. According to ProBoards Support, the system's a bit of a mess and won't be properly fixed until v5. Therefore, I'd advise either patience, or taking important ones and copying them into a Word/Notepad file. You might also want to think about whether you really need to back them up; I never have.

Yeah, if you really want to save your messages offline I'd suggest just copypasting. The backup also only saves your inbox.

Does everyone suddenly have some random words underlined and yellow as a link to an ad? Or do I have to worry about my computer?

Where are the links appearing? In posts, or elsewhere?

Everywhere. In my own posts, in everyone else's posts, in signatures, in profiles, in PMs... Everywhere. And they don't stay the same.

I was having that same problem a few years ago (though not just on 667). You should look into antivirus software if you don't already have any, as seeing weird links and ads pop up where they shouldn't is probably a sign that your computer's infected.

I recalled having this before, and I looked over some stuff, and I had this about a year or so ago (Before 667). Then my computer blocked me out because of the virus. So yeah., what Antenora said.

It's some kind if ad-ware by the sounds of it. Do you have any new browser toolbar/ search bars?
