Do the books like Huckleberry Finn count?
Pinocchio Tom Sawyer Alice In Wonderland Arabian Nights Black Beauty Call of the Wild Treasure Island Wizard of Oz King Arthur Grimm's Fairy Tales Gulliver's Travels Heidi Jungle Book Robin Hood Swiss Family Robinson Robinson Crusoe Tale of Two Cities Three Musketeers
Those were what I thought were classics...
EDIT: and Sherlock Holms

Gotta love Walden, Swans! *mutters to self* WHY did I ever decide I wanted to read it, so boring and long...
Fahrenheit 451, though I don't really like it... Shakespeare's plays. Would they count? works by long dead Roman and Greek guys, like Caesar's Gallic Wars or Aristophanes's The Clouds... And above all else, anything by Tolkien.
Stuff like that. I guess.

I can imagine it was...that sounds like an absolute NIGHTMARE. Ok, I'll give Billy Budd a try. Would you like to be my official literature advisor, by the way?

OH MY GOD! That sounds awesome! Birdget Jones's Diary is loosely based on P&P, but this sounds 27 times better! Sadly, I doubt it'll come to Canada, so I'll sit here and pretend I have something equally great to keep me entertained. Ah.... I'm a sucker for chick-books.
Ha! Not a bad description, there.
And since when was he *your* Darcy?

The Cat in the Hat to me will always be classic literature. So, swans, out of all the guys you've claimed, which one are you going to marry. I want to know what type of wedding gift to buy.

Yours, yours, yours, eh? WELL. Naw... I know I can't have Darcy... I can just hope for his young, 21st century equivalent! Or And about Tess of the D'Urbervilles... yeah, he's a nasty guy who sweet talks/lies to her and rapes her and then gets killed... but he does have some good lines and he is a cad... *shrug*

I defenently have a short list cause you all stole mine.
Antigone(one of the saddest greek plays in the world) Little House in the Big Woods!(my sister is going as Laura for Halloween) A Christmas Carol Oliver Twist Taming of the Shrew
What is left? I have such a short list, but you may have to redefine classic for me.

My current favourites:
Master and Margarita The Plague Crime and Punishment Candide Ulysses Remebrance of Things Past (or A la Recherche du Temps Perdu) The Tin Drum
All of them except Ulysses are classic European novels and Ulysses is Irish, so you may not have heard of some of them.
